I'd say watch a recap of the story on youtube and DO jump into this game, clearly you have a low opinion of people, in fact jumping in with no prior knowledge is absolutely fine too, the game is set up in such a way (as TPP will be) that you can start here and do fine, yeah you will get more out of it if you play the rest (as clunky as they are now), but I bet if Kojima was asked whether you can start with these new games he would give an emphatic "yes".

There's been an alpha, a beta and now a gamma, I played the first two and the game was bare bones, it still looks it to me, I hope they flesh out the galaxy with some actual content at some point because if they don't this game will remain niche at best.
Special mention to the excellent audio design though, it's the only thing I like about the game so far except for my first few times trying to dock!

I hope so too, I've been in the alpha/beta for a several months now, I'm worried the game will be niche only though. There's just not much game there atm, hopefully they will flesh it out a lot over the next year or so. It really shows that they have a fraction of the budget of Star Citizen tbh. What it needs is a full story campaign, I know they have plans going forward so I have some hope.

Yeah I have zero respect for someone that started Dark Souls and didn't beat it, imo it was easily the best game of last generation. I can tell this game falls far short of the game it apes though, is it 5/10? No idea. Will I wait for it to be in a Steam sale? You betcha!
My favourite pc game this year Shovel Knight, heck it's my favourite game this year, I also liked Shadow of Mordor but I find Indie games are meeting my gaming needs a lot better nowadays. I'm longing for Hyper Light Drifter, the demo was excellent. Till then it's wod, wow still has it man!
I did like DmC's gameplay and graphics, really hated it's liberal agenda though.
