I really enjoyed the interpretive nature of the storyline for Flower. It's not within a classic genre, therefore it has nothing to be compared to really.
Killzone 2 has a huge list of games to be compared to and it also has a traditional storyline unlike Flower. I like how Flower transports you to a world of fantasy where traditional story elements weren't present, thus my rating.
The rating of the story for Street Fighter IV didn't effect the overall score too badly on TNG. I know that it's a genre that has a focus on the fighting mechanics.
I feel that people give games like Halo 3, Killzone 2, Gears of War 2 as well as many more a free pass when it comes to how entertaining the story and how immersive the world is. I personally prefer a game like Bioshock or Condemned 2 over a random shooter with a formulaic storyline.
I still see Killz...
I can understand where you're coming from saying that picking on the storyline comes off as nitpicking. Perhaps it's just my personality. I'm not a summer blockbuster type of guy. I'm not the guy that would buy Iron Man for the special effects. Killzone 2 feels like that summer movie. It's gorgeous and took a ton of money to make, but it probably won't have a lasting effect on me.
I'll be fair when I review it. I know it will be a mainly positive review, but unless a game has n...
It's an excellent game. I think people just had unrealistic expectations of it. Realisticly, it's a great first person with gorgeous visuals and good multiplayer. The story telling just doesn't hook you like other games in the genre.
Edit @ Above
Halo isn't given a free pass. It's a series that earned its place in history for popularizing FPS multiplayer on consoles. It's like saying that Mario is given a free pass. His series popularized the platforming genre.

The basis of any gaming article is to generate hits to the site it comes from. If this article can be considered flamebait then almost anything can be. Flamebait would be "Halo Eats ****." This is just something that was on my mind.
If you feel my opinion is incorrect then remark about that. I don't mind at all. If I make a mistake, I'll own up to it.
I understand that Sony and Microsoft are two different companies with different marketing tactics but y...
Children need to toughen up apparently. Were posters of Chimera taken down during Resistance 2's launch as well? Besides the red eyes, I don't see anything very menacing about the Helghast.
I like to play video games as well but I also like to write about them and discuss them with people in a civil manner for the most part. Regardless of what you're suggesting, I'll probably keep submitting articles here.
:( Sorry.
I agree that making a mistake like saying the commercial was pre rendered was bad but I've corrected it.
Also, saying the complaining about a poor ad campaign in North America that could help determine how well the game sells is hardly comparable to the snacks the developers of the game have at their meetings.
If you don't like my site or the way I write, then that's fine. It doesn't bother me any. I still enjoy writing and will continue to do so.

Well, whoever is in charge of advertising is obviously not trying to create bad commercials. They just aren't entertaining commercials.
I'll make an edit concerning that. I'm amazed that ad is in game.
Edit: I made the appropriate edits to the article. I went to the Playstation blog and the commercial was actually constructed using the game engine.
I'm impressed myself. Pre rendered cutscenes of the past weren't as visually appealing. That's why I didn't think there was even a point in double checking my statement of it being prerendered.
I feel that it's a very standard sounding name. I am usually pretty good with names, but I had to ask my roommate what the name of "that game" was like six times.
Also, I don't like the word protocol. It looks like it's misspelled but it's not.
Any excuse to use pictures of naughtly anime women. lol
Most of the time I would agree that QTE's ruin a good cutscene, but in the case of Ninja Blade, the cool actions don't happen until you've made the button press. I didn't mind the QTE's in the demo of Ninja Blade and I'm looking forward to the full game. I was going to import it, but I have so many games to play that I may as well wait until it comes out in North America.
lol, Enchanted Arms was a decent distraction when there weren't any RPGs available for either consoles.
@Soda
I didn't mention Otogi because I didn't mention many games from last generation although I agree that they were fine games. Also, I talked about Tenchu Z negatively.
@Zone
I have no knowledge of the japanese language but the asian version was just shipped to me a few days ago with english dubs.
I'm still waiting for my japanese copy of Demon's Souls to arrive. Have you imported it as well? How is it?
I expected very little from the demo but came away quite pleased. It has also built my anticipation for Demon's Souls as well which is also by From Software.
Real women are fine as well. Also, I don't get why people use lotion. It seems like it would get messy as hell.
I think the women of Star Ocean: The Last Hope are hot as well besides Lymle of course, but they are so obviously anime inspired that they fall into the third catergory which is "anime inspired video game characters."
I never said that Flower has a better story than Killzone 2. I obviously rate PSN games a little more generously than a retail game because of the price point.
Also, Flower may not seem to have a deep story upon first glance, but if you were think about it, the whole concept could be a metaphor for a variety of things. I really enjoyed how it was up to open interpretation.
Killzone 2's story and Flower's story are in no way comparable. Even I were to give Killzon...
