Yeah, the gameplay looked a little dated to me as well. The stealth kills, art style and story line are intriguing, though. I wonder about how the soundtrack will turn out as well. I like the music video. If Hollywood Undead were more prevelant on the soundtrack, that would be great.
Yes, Dead Space was such a surprise to me. I didn't expect much. In fact, I thought it was going to be the game that simply made the wait for Resident Evil 5 more bearable but it ended up being the better of the two games in my opinion.
Velvet Assassin is likely to be my next Xbox 360 review. It looks pretty good to me, although it did seem to have some somewhat dated gameplay. The stealth kills look awesome.

Yeah, I usually don't get too excited about downloadable games but this one really has my interest. It looks like a very lighthearted good time. I love serious games as well but I haven't played anything like Fat Princess in a while.

So true, Ghost. While I appreciate other genres of music, metal is my absolute favorite. It doesn't get enough credit. Most people feel as though it is not rhythmatic enough and that the vocals are too hard to understand. I feel like it's the most honest display of emotion in music.
I couldn't disagree more. I would much prefer hearing a good metal soundtrack over another generic one. I guess the same could go for film. I don't hear a lot of good metal in movie soundtracks either. You just get the occasional rock band that makes a metal-esque track, but that's it.
No, I even said that it sold well. It just didn't get the ratings it deserved nor is it regarded as the modern classic that it should be. Nothing quite as unique has happened to the RPG genre since.
Even a metacritic rating of 81 seems quite low to me for this game. It's certainly short for an RPG but I would rather play an incredible game that is quite short than a very long game that gets dull towards the end.
I'm one of the people that wish the series still had zombies but that didn't stop me from enjoying 4 and 5. I suppose Dead Rising was made to appease the need for the re-killing of zombies while the Resident Evil series goes in another direction.
Any core gamer is going to get used to a control scheme after a certain amount of time. That's why some people have beaten Superman 64. Just because you are able to get used to a control scheme doesn't mean that it's a good one.

I'm sure if we were to hold the Dead Space controls under a microscope, we would find some flaws but I agree that they are excellent. I assumed that Resident Evil 5 was going to be much better than Dead Space but my assumption was wrong. They are both great games, but Dead Space certainly controls the best out of the two.
I was surprised at how good Dead Space turned out. I greatly anticipate the sequel and the live action movie in the works. I love the space setting.
Dead Space may not be perfect but it's certainly the best survival horror of this generation so far. I like Resident Evil 5 as well but you can hardly call it a survival horror. It's more of an action game with horror elements.

I felt that it would be silly of me to try and write an unbiased review while overlooking the multiple flaws in the game. For instance, I gave Killzone 2 a 9. The only thing that I didn't like was the story.
Demon's Souls was slightly above average in every other area besides the gameplay. It wouldn't be fair to developers that take the time to have excellent graphics, storyline and sound design in their games if I were to give Demon's Souls a higher rating that I did.

I'm somewhat looking forward to Assassins Creed 2, but I hope it makes a lot of changes over the original. I liked the original but I think it is highly over rated. If I were to have reviewed Assassins Creed, I probably would have given it a 7.0 - 8.0 at the most.
