The hardware may be the best out of all the available consoles but what exactly has Sony done since launch that makes them the leader aside from selling the most?
What about Wii U owners, aren't there more of them than PS4 owners?
Of course its not necessary because that choice is not available. I am a Plus member, always have been, but I don't want anyone deciding for me what I want and don't want. If consumers see no value in it the service will go away by itself because nobody would support it. Sony sees the service as devaluing its own services including PSNow so they don't want it.
Does Giant Bomb also support your conspiracy theories? The same site that gave The Last Of Us a perfect 10?
Give it up, no matter how much you despise Microsoft, which is very evident in your comment history, they don't control Metacritic reviews. Ever stop to think for a moment that not everyone likes the game? If you enjoy the game that's great but don't sell us your bs because you've got personal issues with Microsoft. This blog seems to highlight people li...
I wish we could collectively act like gamers with no bias at all where the games are the focus. Not the publishers, not the hardware supplier and none of this I need to choose sides because of such and such a reason therfore my opinion is going to be skewed when talking about this game.
Destiny is being linked with Sony while Titanfall is in relation with Microsoft. Even though Destiny is on non Sony platforms. This is why so many are defending Destiny and I imagine why some...
A release date is what hurt it. Bungie is not a very fast working development team. I believe the game e will be great over time but it will take years for the game to fully realize it's potential.
This happens quite often with games, they have deadlines to meet. So you either release it as is and how to improve it down the road or you pray the publisher allows you more time. Or in some cases games feel like they will never come out like The Last Guardian.
How would the reactions have been if Nintendo bought them? Not nearly as bad or pessimistic I imagine. Which goes to show the responses mainly stem from people who dislike the company yet have very little interest in what Microsoft may do to further innovate the Minecraft franchise. Look at where they took Halo and how they marketed that. You think anyone other than Microsoft has the financial backing and the technology to make it even bigger than it currently is now?
Minecr...
It also comes across as being nothing more than a spokesman on Sony's behalf. They are a studio working for Sony and we all know Sony bet big on Destiny.
Yes they do. On top of that there really is no need for a slim PS4 right now, it's selling very well. Unless of course the whole point is to make it cheaper to produce and get more profits.
I hate articles like this that take pages to click.
The game is designed around the Destiny franchise, not just what has been released so far. Which makes it very difficult to review. I imagine in a few years we will all look back and think how great the concept is but for now it's quite a letdown.
DLC and expansions will further populate the game but for now it is quite barren and empty. Just imagine if this game didn't get good sales, we would never see its full potential. I look forward to what Bungie had install f...
These clauses will always be flexible pending on how well the platform is selling. Nintendo had clauses dating back to the SNES that limited third party output. Sony had a clause last gen on third party titles being released later that had to have additional exclusive content.
Microsoft will be far more lenient on the Xbox One because they have fallen behind with its main competitor, the PS4. No Mans Sky for example will come to the Xbox One after the timed exclusive deal wit...
How many insecure console fans are there? They all go hand in hand. Until we can all get along and get back to basics, enjoying video games, we will continue to highlight why articles like these exist.
The thing is consoles are handicapped by its pricing model versus being mainstream. It's also why consoles have a heck of a time selling if they are priced over $400.
PC gaming is for purists who want the best possible performance. Nothing wrong with that...
Doesn't this game require an online connection to play? If so these people are really dumb to be doing this. Bungie's banhammer will find them.
So removing Kinect did indeed help the Xbox One get closer to parity of the PS4. Good news for Xbox One owners. Will be interesting to see how The Witcher 3 stacks up including the PC. That game will truly be next generation and not a launch title on the new consoles. Should show a good representation of how all the the systems compare.
Sony said they wanted less updates after all the flack they received on the PS3. So many useless updates as far as new features go. Yet in the PS4 they continually have updates mostly in the form of security updates and stability. Microsoft continues to shine when it comes to updates as their background is in software and operating systems via Windows.
Software revenue is what's important, not how many phones or consoles were sold. The simple truth is money is being made on smartphones which is why big publishers want a piece of the pie. Problem is nobody would pay $60 to play a game on their iPhone.
Xbox ID can help smaller developers and perhaps we may see some unique Kinect supported games. Other than that there's no point in Microsoft spending money trying to acquire games like they did on the Xbox 360 unless those games appeal to gamers outside of Japan.
I do believe Microsoft still needs some sort of presence there. Capcom, Namco, Square and so on still have games Xbox owners outside of Japan want.
Lol at anyone who thinks this means no more pc support. There own Project Spark is coming to the PC, wake up people. Microsoft are the makers of Windows, there's no way they will alienate the pc community.
One thing that bothers me is how willing Microsoft is about making large transactions with proven franchises but continue to be very skeptical about building their own ip's. It's also why I was disappointed to hear the studio they created are now making Gears ha...
Spending 2 billion on them doesn't mean they will invest less in games for the Xbox One. Microsoft isn't going to sit idle. Minecraft will make them money. They can put that name on everything like they do with Halo.
Personally I think it's a waste of money in the long run because the Minecraft phase will eventually bottom out but the truth is Microsoft has money to throw around.
infinitewords, I agree with what you are saying. Sony has proven they know how to support its consoles with software but the article is taking about how the PS4 is now and sorry to say but so far Sony isn't doing much to retain their leadership. I am sure that will change over time but I don't reward a company for what it may or may not provide. I base my evaluation in where it stands and so far it's been very slow on Sony's part getting things done.
