I'm hoping the popularity of the PS4 and ease of development will spur Japanese developers and revitalize how important they are to the industry. Not just on handhelds.
I don't see a successor. Instead they will utilize PSNow onto cellphones, tablets and other devices.
The reason back then were many reasons,
1. The Xbox 360 came out a year earlier
2. Xbox Live was better (as time went on PSN improved)
3. Controller
4. Multiplatform games often ran better even though on paper the PS3 was more powerful (that changed over time)
5. Sony has many loyal supporters, especially outside of the US
6. XBox Live was primarily better in the US so outside of that region the value diminished
7. Last and not ...
The game was designed to be almost an episodic release. In time that will mean expansion packs, DLC and other means to add new content. As of right now the game seems quite bare with huge potential. That's the trouble with a game like this and such a huge investment. Activision doesn't have 10 years before they can release the finished product so here we have the beginning and so far it doesn't look to be worth $60 but that's just my opinion based on playing the beta on the PS...
Probably the most memorable gaming session for me was playing Super Mario Bros. 3. Late hours having a blast with friends trying to finish it in one day. Other games that really got me excited at the time was the firt time I played Halo, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Mass Effect 1 and 2, the first Ridge Racer and Demolition Derby on the first Playstation.
So far this new generation really hasn't peaked my interest much. I'm sure it will soon with games like Forza...
Since when does graphics deter whether a game gets ported? All XBL games are on the PC? News to me, where can I buy Shadow Complex besides XBL?
I really don't understand this behaviour.
It really is sad someone criticizes others while having a history of those same crticisims. Many people seem to be calling him out for his Titanfall episodes and it looks to me it's more to do with Titanfall being related to Micrsooft and Destiny being linked to Sony. Does that sound correct? If so that's really really odd behaviour. These are just games and known review sites have indeed given Destiny average scores. Mainly for repetivive gameplay, grinding, poor social communcation ...
Some people think the removal of Kinect equals a price cut. Not sure how offering two models equals a price cut, it just means they are offering a cheaper option with less features.
We're you too young to remember Mortal Kombat? That game was severely censored on SNES. Which first party games have blood in them?
Nintendo is known for being a family friendy comaony, not a kiddie system.
Enemy,
How do you know already which game will be better, you played all of both games? They both look great, yes Bloodborne has more pedigree going for it but we won't know how each game stacks up. Not sure what you gain by saying already this game doesn't look nearly as good like you have some stocks in Bloodborn.
Also the article talks about playing the game on the PC and here you are going on about the PS4 being the best version? Sorry but not all...
Yes it does have huge potential. Problem is reaching that potential will take time and money. Both of which many consumers don't have ample supply of.
I think the biggest issue to me is the game is centered around the idea of this big expansive universe with lots of people to play with. Trouble is Bungie is holding that back with upcoming DLC, expansion packs and limiting the social aspect of the game with its limited voice communication and low player count.
Sony lost most if not all of its profits from the PS2 era mostly on the costly PS3. It was why the PS4's main priority was to be profitable much earlier while also being able to cut manufacturing costs more rapidly.
Yes we all know Microsoft has never broke even from the huge losses they sustained from the first Xbox but Xbox 360 brought more profits to Microsoft than the PS3 did for Sony.
The thing is if you look at Sony's portfolio the last decade o...
Why exactly are we talking about Playstation games in a thread about Steam having 100 million users? Why can't people be happy the PC is doing well and leave it at that? I never heard of a contest where all contestants can actually have the best of both worlds if they choose. Some of you act like it has to be one or the other like some private club.
The gaming division makes very little for Sony. So even if PS4 sales continue to do well it alone won't help Sony out of the situation they have been in since about 2006.
Until Nintendo and Sony crack that region it's moot at this point. China has way too many restrictions which is likely causing these delays. Ironic isn't it, they can all make the hardware in China but try and sell it legally.
So now to please everyone developers have to add homosexuality into games? The vast majority doesn't care one way or another so I disagree with the sentiments when they say the vast majority think it's a good thing to have the option. The vast majority likes being able to customize their characters but I'm not so sure the context applies to choosing the characters sexual orientation. Maybe I'm wrong.
The PS4 added better social features and things like the share button. Sony is also using that money to further enhance its infrastructure online. Another cool feature is the share play.
Give it time, Plus will start giving away free content to PS4 owners on big titles. Drive Club is one of them. Not the full game but definitely more than what we would consider a demo.
NewMonday, do you purposely go off-topic to add even more confusion to your posting? Minecraft on the Xbox One has a score on metacritic of 88, why would you only talk about user scores and what does that game have to do with anything? I don't own that game or an Xbox One so this constant need of yours to talk like a console warrior is odd to say the least. If you are enjoying Destiny all the more power to you, why let reviews bother you so much?
Bubble to you. It is so disingenuous how extreme console fans try and downplay the importance of PC gaming. Obviously there is a market for high end graphic cards used mainly for gaming. It's just too bad most of the advertising is on consoles. That cost is also being passed onto the consumer, higher software prices.
People do care but not enough to override what a game console is about, playing games. We've become multitaskers so it is nice to have a working and efficient OS to go with conmsoles now. Especially with the huge rise in social interactivity. It should be easy to connect with friends online and it should be fast to get access to your content.
What is wrong with wanting a better entertainment device if in todays times they can be? They should be allowing us to customize ou...
