Of course it does, at least in the latest version. Check 'use as a service' in the configuration, and check this service is automatically started.
It's a well known fact that Microsoft is hated worldwide, much more than any competitor like Sony. It's due to :
- its bad behaviour (consumer milking, closing companies...)
- its faulty products (Vista, Windows, Zune, Xbox 360...)
- a general hate against megacorporations
- a general hate against American products
Actually, that's one of the reasons why despite costing half a PS3, the 360 still couldn't sell much more than the PS3 in Europe.

That's sad, but that's what you get when your only console has a 33 % failure rate and no real exclusive in 2 years.
I wouldn't be surprised if MS stops with gaming as soon as 2010 to cut their losses.
@jenzo : LBP already sold more than one million, and sales are going up in the UK and some other countries, where it went back to the top sellers, so it could reach 2 millions sometimes.
Overall, LBP sales are excellent, considering it's a new IP. Still, it's not as a casual game as Wii Fit, so you can't expect record sales either.

Yeah, great marketing job, especially if you consider MS released only 1 great exclusive this year, Gears of Bore 1.5 (only AAA exclusive this year on crapbox) compared to tons of AAA exclusives like MGS4, LBP, Wipeout on Sony side. But the 360 was about to die (it was constantly outsold worldwide) when they decided to cut the price in half, so there's nothing to brag about.
2009 should be no different with only a handful crappy exclusives coming to crapbox, and tons of gems on P...
I agree. MS needs to release more games on more genres other than shooters to make me buy a 360... No LBP equivalent, no MGS4 equivalent, no God of war or Ratchet equivalent... They need to work on those genres to compete.

In a way, MS 2008 and 2009 lineup matches perfectly a console which doesn't work. Why should they make games for a console which doesn't work ?

yeah, especially since Microsoft still tries to sell HDDVD players for the 360.
Working more didn't help the US much though, considering their economy is in the toilet.
We already know PS3 wins easily in quality games with MGS4, LBP and Bioshock (plus Persona 4 you can play on your PS3).
360 has nothing in 2008, Gears 1.5 and well... that's all. Braid is a XBLA game, so it's quite sad to see that as the best 360 game of the year...
I work in IT, I'm 33 and I still think MS sucks. Sorry.
360 is so last gen. I already have a PS2 as a last gen console. Plus, it has more games than the crapbox and they're much better.
Persona 4 will be released soon on PS2, don't forget that one, it rocks.
@fail : MGS 4 sold more than 4 millions in half a year you know. That's more than any 360 game considering the much smaller install base.
@Rick : ah ah, so true. You still forgot their biggest flop, Too Human. They had tons of flops on Xbox this year but really, this one was the star of the flop show.
@ionstorm : well yeah, in 2007 PS3 outsold 360 worldwide, and so did it in 2008 until now.
On the games side, PS3 won easily too, with only Gears 1.5 as AAA exclusive on the xbox, vs tons of AAA on the PS3 (MGS4, LBP, Wipeout, Resistance 2...)
So yeah, you're right, MS didn't stand a chance in 2007 and 2008.
Yeah, except nearly all these 360 games are flop...
On the other hand, PS3 has less RPG but they're far better :
- Valkyria Chronicles
- Disgaea 3
- White Knight Chronicles
- Folklore (most underrated game ever, maybe...)
And with compatibility, you can even play all the FF, Persona 3/4 and tons of other awesome games.
