It says my 1GB GTX 280 is 1.7GB, but you're right, it used to say my E8400 was 10.4GHZ.
I'm assuming that I'll run it maximum with a SSC eVGA GTX 280 and a E8400 Oc'ed to 3.6ghz on 1920x1200. I hope :|. But it will run like a dream compared to the console versions, that's all that matters. It felt to blurry and clunky on them.
We can't really judge by gameplay yet,
but the visuals need a MAJOR MAJOR overhaul. The AA is non existent, almost EVERY texture is mirrored, which shows a lazy texture artist. And there is no architectural detail, it's all skinned on, the models and textures are pretty low quality themselves. I mean the screenshot where it's a blurred cutscene looks nice, but the ingame screenshots don't look too swell.
Not bashing it because it's a PS3 game, I would say this if it was fo...
Did he put viagra in his hat or something?
The textures and models in fallout 3 aren't all that detailed, but the main difference in the settings are the detail in draw distance, and AA. As of right now, there are a bunch of people working on textures mods to make the game look 2x better!
It's also good that it isn't a crysis like game because more cards can run this MASSIVE game comfortably.
Pretty bad representation for ultra high.
Here's it windowed on 1680x1050 ultra high 8xAA.

Do you have a 4870x2?
I have a Super Super clocked EVGA GTX 280 and I can't even run Stalker Clear Sky at maximum 1920x1200.
I'm not nuts, I'm hoping it's pre-alpha or something, those mirrored textures show me a lazy dev. Also, as I said, I'm not judging this game yet, it has all the potential in the world right now.
Please don't jump to conclusions, I use my PC for gaming, and I own a N64 and PS2, no 360 here.
Edit: Also, I didn't disagree with you, I'll never disagree someone stating their opinion.
I think more then a few people need their eyes checked. Although we haven't really seen gameplay for this game yet, and can't judge it, the graphics so far are...well..a mess to tell the truth. The textures are really low resolution, the textures on the guys "armor" are mirrored and look awkward, the modeling is low quality, and the AA is absolutely non existent.
I'm not saying this to bash the PS3, almost all PS3 games look better then this does now, I'm really surpris...
I said wet textures because that's the name of one of the features you have to enable in the game to see it, no durr.
Sort of look like the wet texture effect when it's raining in Stalker: Clear Sky!
A 4870 isn't even close to a GTX 280, hell it's out performed by the GTX 260, which is only 220$ on Newegg.com.
You must be thinking of the 4870x2 which is 2GPU's crossfired on one card. Which, yes beats a single GTX 280, but costs more, and has two GPU's compared to the GTX 280's one.
Midrange 100~200$ Ati wins with the 4850
Higher Midrange 200~300$ Nvidia Wins with both GTX 260 and GTX 260 216 core
High Range, it's a toss up really, there are so many versions...
I don't think many reviewers totally understand Clear Sky, they're so used to the corporate spawned games pumped out by big names. This is really a different twist of game, if you loved SHOC, you'll love this as well. There are quite a few differences though, for good and for bad, and it's CERTAINLY not a 5.5!
How modders( like from Fpsbanana), much younger then the professional developers can make higher quality weapon models and skins then the professionals. :)
Every JRPG looks so similar...
They're idiots to give this game that score, it deserves a 8/10. Too bad they can't see what the game is really shooting for.
Really is a great game, I'm pretty far into it, and it's DAMN DIFFICULT. I've spent all the cash I've earned for measly food due to my lack of bandages, and un-cruddy guns are hard to come by. The faction wars are amazing, and the flow of the game is so much more refined then SHOC. The only thing I don't like about it, is that you don't seem as stranded or free as the original, you're always on the move, and surrounded by things.
Oh, and also the performance hit is huge >_<...
If you delete the local content and redownload it, same deal? I've had multiple people download it from my account so far, and it's been fine, unless they upped the original amount.
And buy it from a name brand like Alienware or Dell maybe. If you take a few hours to research how to build and what to buy, you can save yourself more then a thousand dollars.
