I cancelled my live membership last week, after they sent me an e-mail warning me of the automatic renewal and charges coming to my credit card. I couldn't justify paying another 50 bucks after hardly touching any online feature of my 360 for over a year.
So good to be a gamer right now.
The game is a success, and now has rabid fans in the states. I'd like to see more story development and different play mechanics. And please let me keep my character builds!

I'm sure all sequels inherently can be played without having any knowledge of the previous game, but you would be missing out on a great game and alot of the back story.
They will probably re-cap with flashbacks and references to the past, but it will not be the complete Mass Effect experience.

Everyone knows exactly what they are getting themselves into when they sign up to buy this game. There is no comprimise. No quarter. The designers did not make it with the intention of coddling you or holding your hand. DS is brutal through and through. I think that it would have been out of character for them to include variable difficulties.
Spent some time with it last night from 11pm to 3am. Bleary eyed @ work, but I haven't felt so excited about a game in a long time. I'm still on 1-1 & I don't even mind dying. I want to explore every nook & cranny of every level.
Look, we already knew that this was not a game for everyone. No game is going to be loved by all gamers. Different strokes for different folks. No need to browbeat the guy. Trey fans need to stick together.
But for me,(36 yr old gamer) this baby is right up my alley. It's kicking my ass and I am loving it. Guess that makes me a masochist.

The game autosaves every few seconds. Lets make this clear for all who do not have this yet. Also, in this game, if you die, it's because you were being careless. This is not a stroll in the park kind of game. Every foot you advance must be scouted out and reconned before you push through.

I am so rabid to play this that I thought about actually buying the game at a gamestop yesterday. Demon's Soul's is driving me to madness.
The grammar nazi in me doesn't even care that the title should be Demons' Souls, not Demon's Souls.
It's so easy. It took me all of 5 minutes. Just be careful with that first blue screw as it can be stripped easily. Loving my 465gb of space now.
You have to hand it to Sony, they have some pretty eclectic games, second in innovation and uniqueness only to Nintendo. 360 is last. Same old genres: wash, rinse and repeat.
