@DAS692 Why are you expecting free "days" ps+ doesn't have a "day to day" advantage.. Your subscription to ps plus has no bearing on your everday activity within psn.. Ps+ gives you free stuff once a month.. being without for two weeks has not altered the amount of value you've gained from being a member.. You have no entitlement in this instance...
Everybody keeps talking about "how sony handled it" but dont you think that taking psn down as soon as they learned of the intrusion was the right move??? It took them 6 days to disclose the nature of the intrusion because they were investigating and had no knowledge of what was affected... I really don't think that sony did anything wrong.. But thats me..
Sony is a scapegoat this generation... Everyone wants a head to place the blame on and since they can't get at the hackers who are actually to blame for this the alternative is sony for "allowing this to happen". What gets me is people are in arms about how easy it apparently was but it took 5 years to hack the system, not easy.. But nonetheless people will martyr sony anyway...
Of course people are sue happy anymore.. If they feel like they can get money they will sue
@anarki that "/s" means sarcasm.. He knows that nothing is hack proof he was mocking all of the people flipping out over how easy it was for psn to be hacked....
I use a prepaid debit card and its much easier then buying psn cards or having my bank account and credit card tied to my psn... Most banks offer pre-paid debit cards, just put a certain amount on it and when it's used up its done... Easy, hassle free, secure....
Thats what gets me.. . Everybody is flipping out about their personal information leaking but they don't realize that its information that gets published in PHONE BOOKS and is easily accesible online... Only your social security number is capable of being used to steal your identity... People are far too paranoid and let the fearmongoring get them in a tizzzy over nothing really...
MS does not "have their stuff together" Pirating and hacking has existed on the xbox for nearly all of its life.. It took 5 years for the ps3 to be hacked and it took the root key to do it.. Consequently the root key essentially unlocked the front door to the whole network... You neet to stop being a fanboy and realize how dangerous this is for the entire industry...
I love how sony states there is NO evidence that credit card info was stolen yet people are flipping their lid and crying about ordering new cards and worried about money being stolen... Most of the info taken was stuff you can get off the internet freely anyway.. There is no way your identity can be stolen without your social security number and thats not stored in psn..... People really do spaz out way to easily...
I want to know exactly how this guy presumes to know what kind of network sony has... He's speculating and making baseless claims and proceeds to tell everyone his extensive networking background.. WHoopdy dooo... Unless he was a sony employee who was intially on the team that built psn then his OPINION is moot.
I reserve my anger over the amount of time it took them to tell us because they didnt know exactly what was affected.. They could have told us last week just to be precautionary.. None the less even if people's accounts are hit they have a legitimate fraud claim and most banks will rectify the situation especially if sony intervenes.. Heck sony may even reimburse those that had money stolen(that is if it even happened which hasnt been confirmed)
Amen brother.. Bubs+
Why? You sound like a spoiled brat...
You have disagrees because it has never been confirmed that CC information has been stolen.. Only personal information like adress, name, zip code etc which is all stuff easily attainable online...
I love how entirely logical responses get disagrees but the parnoia fueled hatred all over this site is not only agreed with but applauded... People network intrusions are never so routine that you know what was affected.. THey had to hire in a company to investigate the extent of the intrusion and the findings indicated that personal information was gleaned and there was no evidence to think that CC info had been taken but it couldnt be ruled out..
They probably didn't know what was affected.. Calm down everything isn't so cut and dry.. They knew there was an intrusion but not the extent of said intrusion.. This is why they shut down psn and brought in a thrid party to investigate and today's press release is the findings of that investigation....
They have no idea wheteher CC info was stolen.. SHeesh they hired an outside company to investigate and today the released their findings.. Their is no evidence that CC info was stolen but they cant rule it out... You people get up in arms so easily...
Do you know how easy it is for anyone to get your information??? seriously I can do a google search for anyone and get any info I want... To throw a fit because someone hacked your info from psn is asinine...
You have no right to be angry... You are the one that put your credit card info into a public domain and no public domain is unhackable.. I have credit card info on psn and I'm not freaking out.. In fact I do the responsible thing and monitor my account frequently because in the information age it's not that hard for nayer do wells to get your info..
@solidus187 This has nothing to do with allegiance to any console manufacturer.. I'm stating this as a consumer ...
LMAO classic!
