The 3ds is only 80 dollars cheaper because nintendo was forced to drop it.. The abysmal sales forced their hand, if not for the price drop and a few good games coming out b4 christmas the 3ds would still be dead in the water...

If you look on the playstation forum all of the first edition buyers are now complaining because they only get a 4gig as opposed to the 8gig that the new bundle is getting.. This is just proof that you cant please everybody.. Everybody whined about getting a memory card included and now one is and people are complainging about something else... Makes me sick...
@levelhead Consumers aren't stupid.. They will have at least a little knowledge about the products before walking into a store.. And coming from experience they will be inclined to ask someone at the store about the two.. They will want to know whats out now and whats coming out in the future.. No pre-orders for the vita are tearing up the charts.. Its the most pre-ordered item at best buy's website right now.. I'm willing to be that amazon has had alot of preorders on the vita as well.. Unwarranted speculation only leads to mis information

I'm actually excited for little deviants.. Just because its unique like escape plan.. Sony loves to create new IP's and I'm more then happy to take a chance on them.. THats how I discovered God of War, Infamous, Uncharted, Ratchet and clank etc..
Sony has the ability to expand production as needed.. Its one of the ways they shave costs, they are marketing the core because the core are more knowledgeable on the current state of games then casuals.. Therefore they rely on the core consumers to then expand recognition through word of mouth and use... It has worked for sony 3 generations running.. They may not sell out every store but they have consistent sales and usually improve YOY... Its just a different marketing philosophy...
Mass effect 2 was the game that almost made me take the 360 plunge but EA announced it for the ps3 before that happened.. I'm a huge God of War nut and there's nothing on the 360 outside of dante's inferno that comes close to God of War so there really isn't antything tempting me right now.. If I get one it will be so I can play with all of my xbox owning friends.. I just dont want to pay for live..

Thats what I've always thought.. The thought that a million polygons have to not only be rendered but you have texture maps, colors skeletal animations, and physics it seems like an awful lot of resources for a character model.. I could be wrong though...
Upgradeable consoles is a bad idea.. You have to develop your games to the least common denominator or risk alienating potential consumers... Its just a mess..
