Handily? So the ps3 hasn't been outperforming the 360 for the last few years? If not for microsofts bizzare ability to shift an insane amount of consoles during the christmas rush they would have seceded to the ps3 by now in terms of overall sales...
@Sik 40-50 a game? There's only one game for the vita right now priced at $40 and thats Uncharted.. The rest are 20-30 and thats for standalone full feature games. There's a world of much cheaper accessible content on the Ps Store. From ps mini's which are basically mostly ported iphone games, there's psn releases like plants vs zombies, flow, flower, everyday shooter etc.

To be honest I think people are scared of what the vita can do.. No longer can they complain about the lack of a second analog nub, pricing, or features so they nit pick at the most rediculous stuff... In the age of the ipad and laptops its kind of funny that people are riding the vita over its lack of pocketability...
You're recieving disagrees because you are basically telling microsoft that what they are doing is ok and its not.. They have completely abandoned the gamers who have made this industry what it is.. Microsoft is making a statement that the ONLY thing they care about is the money in your wallet not the person carrying it..

Don't feel bad I have 3 platinums and the highest trophy level of all my psn friends and I dont have a single one of those.. I'm shocked I dont have the God of War one considering I'm a God of War nut... But nonetheless I have a very respectable score without those :D

I agree its incentive for someone to keep paying but I just dont want a situation where someone buys into this only to find out you have to keep paying for ps+ to access your content and go on some rant about how sony are crooks and yada yada yada..
Me personally, I have no reason to stop subscribing so its a no brainer for me
After seeing just how motivating it is losing access to content I better understand why people pay for live.. I'm just glad sony ...
@darth Sorry guess I could have worded it better.. Just like KUV said the basic psn in and of itself is a really high quality service especially since its a free service, however subscribing to ps+ makes it that much better.. The features and content that it adds to psn makes it outstanding..
I honestly think that if Microsoft adopted a similiar model, like say they have gold be free where you can play online and do the basic online functions. But if you're a paid platin...
Dang thats a really good deal.. There's not much in the way of free content this month on psn but the simpsons arcade game is a good one and they have a couple of new minis... They might still have some stuff on the last chance tab as well... The only downside is that if someone gets this deal thinking they can get some free games and then move along just remember that once your ps+ membership expires if you don't renew you will lose access to that content that you downloaded...
@cgoodno I think you hit the nail on the head, this economy exposed the biggest weaknesses in sony's market strategy. People have to be alot more thrifty with their money so they will buy a comparable product if its less. They don't seem to mind losing some of the durability and brand experience for a more affordable and slightly less performing product.. Also sony's compartmentalization was a huge weakness.. The ps3 has the ability for custom soundtracks during games but sony doesn't require that developers implement it so it is an afterthought for most games on the ps3..
I whole heartedly agree.. I have hundreds of dollars worth of free content on my hard drive because I've been a plus sub. since the very begining.. I was soo timid about subscribing but the bonus 3 month deal lured me in and because of the psn outtage and subsequent fallout I paid $40 for 18 months of ps+.. Sony has a different way of going about doing things I get that. Why you have to download and then install all in separate steps is beyond me and it used to bother me but the dl and install times have sped up significantly since the begining of this generation that it honestly is an afterthought to me anymore.. Also I'm a plus subscriber so my ps3 automatically turns on, dl's updates, patches, firmware etc and then turns off when i'm asleep.. It works so well that I can't reme...
