The worst about it is they spent a lot of time and money on this (poor by most accounts) effort.
They need to lay off the false promises and delusions of grandeur that comes with their arrogant corporate strategy and focus more on the games they should be producing.

And the PS3 most certainly wasn't a joke at it's launch. It launched as the cheapest way to get a Blu Ray player, had better media capabilities than even the PS4 and had excellent games such as Motorstorm and Resistance Fall of Man.
Oh, and I didn't need to buy two or three consoles over the course of the generation due to design flaws and being rushed to market.

@Sunny D - To be fair, 90 to 40 isn't 3 to 1 either. At times it's sold 3 to 1 but for the most part has been closer to 2 to 1 hence why the numbers are somewhere in between

I don't necessarily think darkness within media content automatically makes it better, just that it is one of the major differences between the two we were discussing.
I agree with most of your points other than it surpassing batman in many ways. Spiderman is a truly fantastic and may actually be my GOTY, but it didn't have the darkness of the arkham series, the twisted psychotic humour of the joker or the variety of bosses that batman had.
Oh, and the combat for batman was better implemented. Can't wait to get Spiderman back from a friend to get into all the DLC.

If you read through the article you'll understand that RL isn't so much the issue he has but the toxicity of the online gaming environment due to the actions of some.
He doesn't really go in to questioning why game developers don't do much to combat it though.
