Nope. The kind of controls they are designing are impossible with the PSP and they are the main difference between the Wii version and the others. Personally, I have great hopes this will be a worthy game.
He appears to be a little naive, as games similar to this always failed in Japan and were hardly a success anywhere else but America. I would wait the American release before making any judgement.
Personally, I would like to see the COD4 engine applied to a WWII story. But then, I am sort of a WWII history buff and COD4 story did nothing to me.
Most people will be unable to tell the difference anyway. As a matter of fact, there is not much of a reason to go for 1080p in a TV smaller than 50 inches, as most people cannot find much of a difference from 720p.
I am pretty sure the human eye can spot the difference, but it is so small I think the human pocket will not be ready to buy it.
This list only make sense if he is limiting his predictions to the XBox 360. It would hard to believe that Nintendo wouldn't have some games selling a few million copies in 2008 as they had in 2007. Also, where are PC heavy sellers, such as World of Warcraft, or PS3 major hits, such as Grand Turismo or Metal Gear Solid?
So we have a violent game where the player controls a nihilist guy with a lightsaber in a bloody mission to kill people and become the great assassin in the world. What I don't understand is why anybody could think this kind of game would ever be a big hit in Japan? If it is any good -- and it seems to be -- it would probably be a good seller in the US and perhaps Europe, but never in Japan. Different markets, different tastes.
Cool, Lode Runner is one of my favorite games.
I am more interested in knowing how the good the gameplay will be. However, concerned the graphics, it looks like the Wii was the primary development platform, as, aside from the higher definition, is very similar to the 360 version.
If properly done, it could be a hit. However, I am a little bit suspicious of Wii Sports 2 wannabe games.
The Round Peg, in the very first post of this topic give a good cause why ps3 games are trailing in sales. In the other hand, it is not hard to understand how the three "average" games cited in the article are good sellers. Kane & Lynch received strong marketing support, High School Musical is a Disney game based in a popular tv show for kids -- and a safe bet to parents looking for gifts, and Mario Party 8 is much better than its scores in the specialized media suggest. At leas...
It is hard to respect the author's opinion as he lacks facts to support most of his arguments. It seems he is following the easy road of trashing something widely recognized as good to appear to be smarter than he really is. If that's the case, he should at least point out some real problems of the Wii, not his problems with the console.
I found it fair. There is no such thing as an unanimous GOTY award and Super Mario Galaxy is an outstanding game. As a matter of fact, I found Yahoo picked its three nominees (SMG, Rock Band and Bioshock) very wisely, much better than most specialized videogame sites. Personally, I think Bioshock is somewhat overrated but still a great game worthy of the nomination.
I wonder why Nintendo haven't hired him yet.
I liked Riddick and Goldeneye as the top games. They justly deserve it. However, I think that The Thing should be also a top five in that list.
Not sure what you're saying regarding the handhelds. Both the DS and the PSP are current generation. Last generation would be the Gameboy Advanced.
Most Wii owners knows that their consoles' graphics are not as good as the ps3 or the Xbox 360 and they don't care. They believe gesture controls are far more immersing than high definition graphics, which, to most people, is not that important as Wii graphics are good enough to most purposes.
As surprising as it may seem, hardcore gamers are only a minority portion of the gamers. Even so, I know a few that freed themselves from the graphic centric view and now admits that some...
I am a WWII gaming fan, so I'll love to see the series back in its roots. However, I would go for another war, such as Korea or Vietnam. But please, imaginary scenarios such as seen in COD4, that's not my cup of tea.
I don't know the details but I believe Nintendo buy the news feed from press agencies. As such, they aren't edited by Nintendo, which is a game company and not a news provider. I don't get why people get excited by this. If they were censoring the news, then it would be something. But by being honest is no less no more than I expect from them.
I sold my PSP after two months. Too big to fit in a pocket, too much time waiting the UMD to load, short battery time, and very uncomfortable to play for a long period. I have no experience with the DS, but, at least is diskless and would fit in a pocket.
Although I agree that Nintendo dominates Wii software sales, I believe the developers should be blamed for it. I would say that most well done independent games are doing fine. Games such as Guitar Hero III, Resident Evil 4, Mario & Sonic, Raymans Raving Rabbits and even Red Steel sold more than a million copies -- which is a lot, as Wii games are cheaper to develop and, as such, don't need to have to sell as many games as their ps3 and 360 versions to make money. As a matter of fact, a q...
