Companies will keep chipping away at this idea until it sticks. Consoles are becoming more like PCs and PCs could do with borrowing a few elements from consoles in my opinion.

This convergence *will* happen one way or the other.

There IS a problem with preordering physical discs and that is you are giving your money to a publisher before they have even produced the game. What if its terrible? This sends a bad message to publishers... It doesnt matter if the game is slightly unfinished or even just crap, there are still 500k preorders for them to bank on!

The whole preorder culture is anti consumer in my mind.

Agreed, fortnite is good for quick games and is alot of fun but battlegrounds is a much deeper, more satisfying experience on the whole.

What are ign even doing reviewing an update?! Slow review day? To even give a numeric score to an update, it's almost meaningless. Ign have not been relevant for along time in my opinion.

Played this on release and loved it, yes it was a bit repetitive after 60 hrs or so but still an amazing achievement. The dedication the team have shown to their community is inspiring.

This latest update is a really nice addition and the timing aligns perfectly wit...

He was just putting into words the kind of phrases that we all say in everyday conversation... Obviously he wasn't really saying 100000% better. Come on give the guy a break. I think what he meant was fan based passion wins out over corporate/business every time (oops I just did it).

I kinda disagree with your comment on trailers though, I think it's not hard to see through the bullshit and determine if a film is bad, despite a big budget and swanky cinematography....

Sony does allow cross play with pc though right. And pc has the biggest installed user base of any machine on the entire planet right??

I'm just thinking in terms of trying to separate them in the market place. If it had TV out it would pretty much just be a 'switch' just smaller. I know what you are saying but I'm just thinking if it has TV out, then what's the incentive to buy the original switch?

Any replacement should play switch games but with smaller screen and no TV out.

Anything that divides their player base would be ludicrous.

I was just thinking this. Feels like the Microsoft /xbox /American propaganda machine is in full swing!

Irrelevant and yet here we are talking about them.

I've personally always found edge to be one of better review magazines/sites in the industry.

@bigger boss - you don't know what you're talking about. Please name some reviewers you think ARE relevant.

Can you back that statement up at all?

Their reviews are some of the best in the industry and their ratings are usually pretty spot on. Edge themselves have always had an issue with scores and have even toyed with removing them completely.

An 8 from edge is considered an excellent game, compared to other review sites where 8s get awarded to even mediocre titles. A 5 from edge is considered by them to be average (which is how it should be in my opinion).

@majiebeast
Edge is probably the best gaming magazine there is left. If you know of a better one then please enlighten me.

Fortnite is free, is aimed at at a broader age range and is multi platform. It has had over 3 million concurrent players and has been downloaded over 45 million times because of this.

Pubg has sold over 30 million copies on just one platform at £30 a pop despite being aimed at adults. Pubg has grown the genre into what it is today, thanks to Brandon greene (who also consulted on h1z1).

I don't see it that pubg has made mistakes that has allowed...

I think if Ms continue their backwards compatibility push and make their next device compatible with this gen they will have a relatively strong and vast library of games from day one.

However what I think let's Ms down is the fact that they only cover the very basics in terms of genres. They have Driving covered with forza, gears/TPS, Halo/FPS, minecraft and not much more. Today's gamers demand a little more than just this (unless you are American, jokes) and I th...

This game is actually very good. You have obviously (I mean like, clearly) never played it.

Stop talking trash about things you don't understand and try putting something positive into the world.

Tequila had substantial funding from Sony in the begining however the plug was pulled simply because the devs didn't deliver what they promised in a decent time frame. Sony simply lost faith as tequilas promises failed to materialise. They obviously went on to secure their own funding and complete the game but it wasn't an easy ride for them from what I hear. This game has been in development for bleeding years!

1.8m sold on ps4, 800k on pc. The game did anything but tank, which is why they are now hiring.
