I think you'll find that this whole apology thing was just a well timed piece of marketing. Edge themselves have called their scores meaningless and even tried removing scores one month. But people love a number!
Games like any art form are subjective and therefore the numbering/scoring system in general is flawed in my mind, especially as most reviews are scored by one person most of the time.. I mean, what would you score a painting? ...Its bllsht, it means nothing.
Just to play devil's advocate here, this game was designed to work on the very latest pc hardware. Did we really think it was gonna look great on 7 year old consoles?
Would you expect a switch version of this game to look equal to the ps4?
This reminds me of the 16 bit era with games coming out on different consoles with wildly different graphics. It sucks but it's just life, maybe we shouldn't pre order games until we have seen a good few reviews?

Pubg achieved huge success becuase it did something different, plain and simple. Gamers wanted something new and didn't want to keep playing the same old crap churned out by big Western publishers.
Despite its many flaws it was a great game and easily a contender for one of the best of the last year. It moved the industry in a new direction and has influenced MP game design for many years to come.

Never had an issue with ps4 controllers. If ever one of them gets low I simply plug in any old micro USB lead and the thing charges up AND allows me to keep playing.

One thing you need to understand about the edge rating system is that a 5 is in the middle of greatness and total trash, its average. A four from edge actually just means its below average.
And for those saying horizon 4 doesn't deserve a 9, I would say that perhaps you haven't played it, its awesome. Can't wait to see what this dev does next!
