The reason people are disagreeing with you as far as i can see is for comments like "the market is very different from 10 years ago.... we need them to make profit.." Yes you are right its a different market, Its 10 times the size and companies now make more money now than they ever have in the history of gaming! Even with piracy and used games this is still the case!! You are maybe thinking about the way publishers screw developers??!

Wish people would stop talking as if theres this huge fkin divide... We are all just gamers. Gamers may play games on consoles (affordable) or on PCs (a bit more money) but essentially we are all just gamers. We go where the games are... In fact everyone one of us uses a PC for something i bet.. Im typing on one now.. and i may play a bit of DayZ on PC one day and then maybe a console game another day.. and i bet we all do that to some extent or other -
Consoles are becoming more like PCs and PCs will become more like consoles also. Its converging.. thats er.. progress.
Consoles are not dead though, they are just changing, evolving. In a few years time they will all do the same stuff...

Ok fair point.. i loved tribes ascend free to play and to be honest i havnt touched my ps3 in a year for games but you gotta admit piracy is rife in the PC community. On a closed system like a console its harder to do (which includes Steambox btw) If i can keep all my existing steam games and take them straight over to steambox with me then im in... I love the fact i can play a game from 8 years ago on any PC pretty much.. makes the rubbish backwards comparability of consoles look even more u...
you gotta love steam... which is reason i think valve will do well with their console... Once they are established though dont expect the huge sales/savings we currently enjoy...
PC software sales are crippled by piracy, so its understandable that publishers would rather produce games for the console market. Its a shame that considering how many PC gamers there are that only a relatively small number of games actually find their way to their platform (for the reasons stated above). However there are some gaming experiences that only a pc can provide and that is the reason i will always own a pc AND a console... I think if you like games thats the only way to go.
Love Larry L's comments about GT6 having ps3/ps4 cross platform connectivity. That would be awesome.

Have played new DMC all the way through now and really enjoyed it.. Capcom obviously wanted a reboot and DIDNT want the original team working on it for a reason.. Because it was getting STALE.. In my opinion Ninja Theory have done a great job.. wish people would stop whining on..

Doesn't look great... certainly not "next gen" looking.
its custom hardware people... the specs/benchmarks that many have gathered on 6670 and 7670 are almost irrelevant.... The ps3 had a modified nvidia 7800 in it for christ sake(!!) and some games on ps3 still look pretty damn good in my opinion.
People getting hung up on the order of these developers are f%$%£"$ idiots. Its not the order that important (thats purely subjective) - I read through the entire article and found it fascinating... and thats what its about people.
Edge is probably one of the best publications out there i would say. Go on... someone give me a list of better games and hardware publications?? go on.. try.
