Sorry to burst your bubble "The Dark Side" but I would truly have to disagree with you. MGS is a good game in it's own right, but don't overblow it cuz its not that great.
It's funny cuz even after so many years, Gears is already a bigger mass market game then MGS. Outside of us hardcore gamers, not many people know who Snake even is.

Nintendo is really taking away the whole casual market. There is absolutely NO WAY that the PS3 or the 360 will reach the numbers the PS2 made because Nintendo is swallowing those people whole.
The PS3 and the 360 are just left to fight for the hardcore market as sad as that may be.

I hate how people get excited when they say this. This a big "Duh!!!" On every system ever created graphics et better and better down it's lifecycle.
Gears is actually closer to 6 Million now, double what Resistance was. And those Resistance numbers are also inflated because Resistance was boxed in with the PS3. Number would never heave been that high if it wasn't.
Don't get me wrong, for a launch title, Resistance was a very good game. But lets be real here!!!

Of course KillZone has the better Graphics! Anybody outside of a hardcore Xbox fan will admit that.
But gameplay wise, it is Gears hands down. That is why it the original was Game of the Year. Gears is Something truly Special!
