I think MS messed up this time. Knowing them though, they're assembling a massive task force to bully publisher into gimping PS4 versions with "all games must be at least identical" licensing terms.
I wish I knew at least one person with an Xone so I could gloat the rest of the gen and playfully mock the inferior multiplats (like they did when I only had ps3), but everyone I know bought PS4 or is waiting for it to be available.
It's not as fun if I can't see their inferior version then go home and feel the satisfaction of having the superior game while paying significantly less for the console, and having the better online game service
What's about games at 60fps...like Tomb Raider.
The more multiplats are compared between PS4 and Xone the happier I'm become with my PS4 purchase.
With Plus it truly is the game machine for gamers.
ONLINE Shooters
Online competitive k/d shooters like COD and BF4 will be replaced by more team oriented MMO-ish shooters where more people can feel "skilled" in some way. Be it via raw skill, or via skills acquired by accumulating playtime and levelling up.
The k/d games ensures that half of the users leave frustrated or at least anxious about maintaining their stats. The consistent real fun is only had by the minority of highly skilled players.

Some games are better shorter some longer, depends IMO.
Sometime the game is great but the experiences drags on, other times games end to abruptly to flesh out the story properly.
Considering COD, Madden, Fifa, BF, etc. are the most popular games every year and those games are on next-gen consoles, maybe people just wanted graphically improved versions of those games, in which case, games are driving the next-gen console sales.
I for one would love some more fantasy in games. I'm tired of seeing recreations of the real world and warzones.
Human imagination is the limit but all we get are various versions of New York, Chicago, L.A., London in varying time periods or standard warzones. I'd love for the old fire, water, cloud, winter, jungle levels theme to come back to gaming, in an adapted form of course.

Both those game can be bought for 20-30 (Canadian - I'm from Canada) but maybe 40% goes to the publisher. All Sony has to do is pay them for more copies than they would sell for the period the games are on plus.
Say Metro is selling 50K a month on disc still in EU Sony can buy an additional 100k digital at the share the publisher would receive from a physical sale for three months of having the game in Plus(very loose estimate) that the publisher wouldn't never have e...
Ever since I bought PS4 and PSN Plus I've been spending more time on my PS3 than in the last 2.5 years.

Most upcoming 3rd party games wouldn't work on Wii U, or the dev cost to market share wouldn't justify it.
Next gen engines were made for next gen hardware and PC, which are all very similar. A lot of last gen games come out on Wii U but there's no point buying a Wii U to play last gen games when they'll look and run virtually as well on your ps3/360. And for people that don't have those, you can get a ps3 with a far better and larger game catalogue for 2...

The way things are going Canadian gamers are screwed. We live in the dark ages of tiny bandwidth caps combined with Hugh prices. Our ISP model is not in any way designed to embrace the digital age of delivering content. If game patches start including DLC, which last gen was fairly common, then we'll be either locked out of games we bought or forced to incur overage charges.

I agree, the VC point system is broken and exploitative. They should give out much more IN GAME or makes things cost much less.
It should be used to allow people to pay to reach maximum game advancement instantly, not prevent people from reasonably advancing . Every mode requires it and every mode gives so little out. If it were an RPG and treated as experience, it would take inordinately long to level up.

After getting PSN plus with my PS4, my only regret has not been subscribing to Plus sooner.
I'm using my ps3 more now than ever.
ATM pS3 with plus is offering the best games and value in the industry.
I hope Sony makes the most of this opportunity and introduces an all encompassing entertainment service, TV, Movies, Music, and games.
Sony should out Netflix Netlfix, they already have the movies and music and games. I'd love an all in one service, it would be a real revolution in entertainment.
