I have the DK2 and will wait until the screens are 4K or higher as the screen door effect is a real thing that detracts somewhat from the experience. It's still great. I'd jump on board as soon as you can tbh, I'm just in no rush to upgrade yet. :)
This'll be really interesting to watch. Sean Murray is v charming but pretty typically nerdy in a way some would make fun of, Colbert is generally pretty chill in his new show now he's not playing a character, but I hope he avoids the easy jokes.
Let's hope he's impressed and not dismissive, buuuut..
.. Expect at least one joke on how you could waste your entire life inside a game like this, intended in a well meaning jokey way that'll lik...
Ok, in that case I admit it makes a little more sense. Though I'd think discs or cards or pretty much anything would be more logical than beads on a bracelet? :)
It makes sense that most games should cost more to make now.
A lot of it on mo-cap, much higher poly modelling, hugely more texture work and much more diverse animation systems. Much more complicated lighting, sound, shaders and pathing, etc. Often shorter dev times but much bigger teams (looking at Ubisoft for example.) IMO we surpasses Spirits Within - in realtime years ago, other than aliasing issues.
But the marketing is a necessary evil to some extent.
Smart beads on a bracelet..?
"In various examples each bead represents a character, environment, object, etc. and the software experience displays an animated story based on the characters, environments, objects, etc. represented by the beads involved in an interaction."
This sounds.. Unmarketably dumb? Likely a patent they'll never actually use.
Lol what. I have a lot of games on my PS4 and I'm trying to think of a single one that fits the description of military style / zombie games.
Not seeing it.
Aww. This is great news! But it's sort of a shame. There's no reason a ps4 couldn't emulate a PS2 - the PS3 even did a reasonable job for a bit without the dedicated chips. I can understand no PS3 BC - it's hardware design was so absolutely weird it'd be nigh impossible to emulate, but the PS2 is comparatively easy and they already have the source for the beginnings of an emulator.
So.. Boo... But yay also.
I wonder if the PC version of MGS5 is going to end up like KOTOR2, with fans attempting to recreate cut content and hacking in missing things?
Was there an entire map missing as well? That doesn't sound easy to put back. :( I've not played it yet.
Bushido Blade.. Seriously - it was before its time and would go down much better now. Fighter where you can die from a single hit, or be immobilised? Awesome.
Turrican.. Damnit.
When a game is full screen, on the same display, using the same controllers.. Where is this "soul" coming from on consoles?
Ubergamers aren't the primary target market. They don't need to attract the main console gamers..
I agree.. It's pretty common sense really and it's frustrating when any part of the media machine runs with games causing violence. I mean, in certain circumstances they could contribute a little to someone's negative mindset if they had other preexisting issues. Hell, I know a woman with paranoid schizophrenia who I wouldn't let play PT for example, haha.. But it's never THE cause. Just a tiny part of a very complex set of problems.
I still think certain ...
Mrveryodd: Tomb Raider reboot also came out on OSX, so a chunk of those App Store sales went to Apple.
In contrast, MS don't generally make money from a PC game selling on Windows (unless it sells through their store).. Valve often do though if they're bought through steam. :)
Communion is also pretty freaky. Pesky aliens.
Make threats get arrested? I'm all for that. If only they could cut through the internet anonymity thing and actually get to the perps.
"Popular free to play title." .. Popular? With who? I didn't think anyone likes it that much? If loads of people were still playing it they'd have waited for a replacement before cancelling it, surely?
I know what you're talking about, but this doesn't seem like the article to do it on? One where people are genuinely complaining about it would make a lot more sense. :)
It wasn't a protest, it was a joke article?
Hahaha. What the hell.
It's odd that they're only mentioning the splitting thing - we've known for a while that it's not only splitting it to the headset and the TV input, but it's processing motion data to increase the FPS at the headset end, like many TVs do. Some TVs do it terribly, while others do it much better - Sony obviously think their MotionFlow tech is good enough for this purpose.. I'm really interested to see it in person as on TVs the tech introduces a tiny bit of latency that ...
