I think it's a tone thing. There are certain subjects it's best to treat in a respectful manner.

Lest we start getting educational concentration camp sims where he creators go "but this is what it was like! We're teaching you history!" - when they should know well what'd happen.. In fact they sort of must do, which would imply a cumybical attention grab.

No, the more they teach about it, the better people will understand How not to let it happen again, and also realise the similarities and awkward pitfalls of the industrial prison complex, etc.

Educational titles are a good idea, tasteless ones not so much. Good history lessons are a must. Same applies to accurate depictions of all horrible historical events (the holocaust, Hiroshima/Nagasaki, all the various massacres, etc.)

Yeah, she looked a little older in the reveal too, I wonder if we'll end up in a situation where the male characters are the only ones who age at all. Oh well. :)

It is a wonderful beard, but it definitely looks best on him. :D

Madjedi, your problem here is pigeonholing people into camps where they possess opposing views they don't necessarily have. I really don't care "what" people on n4g think I am.

Ryu looks strong. He's not inherently objectified as a sex object in that design at all, people find it attractive because what, he has a rugged beard now? How is that not allowing him to be an individual? Shirtless? Ok.. Looks powerful. What? The false equivalence thing still sta...

I doubt "the Internet" really cares that much what you choose as a headline when submitting to n4g..?

Ryu is I guess aspirational to dadbod types who want to look (comically) superbuff.. Chun-li could equally be aspirational to women who want to look super buff too?

Any outcry over that headline would likely be due to the different implications of "dad bod" and "mom bod" - a term that's not really used so could be misconstrue...

It'll be great but it'd be greater with a higher resolution display. :/ looking forward to VR with high enough res that we can't see the pixels so easily.

Nice to know it's competently executed. It was always likely to be the sort of thing many would dislike, find repetitive, etc.

He hardly ruined PT, did he?

So have all the other control schemes? It doesn't have to be totally novel, it's still nice to see different approaches to these problems.

Err, the reports I read said it had a touch surface on the front, a mic, motion controls, and physical buttons on the back.. Motion (or voice) controls seem a given on this sort of UI.

So contrary to all the comments here, that does sound somewhat innovative, and pretty weird.. Trying to cater to multitouch gamers and trad ones and motion ones from one controller sounds a bit crazy, and not very Apple-ish, as they usually streamline, not include everything but the kitchen si...

I think it's sort of loveably awkward.. Like you say, a teens PC chassis.. It's trying to look badass and rugged and powerful but it just looks dorky.

The thing is, he's NOT an ambitious guy. It seems like he bought into big showy stuff because he felt he should want to, and the idea is that it's whats supposed to make you happy.

Which is shit. Rich people aren't happy too, and the ones who *are* ambitious often want more, more, more.

It's like he has buyers remorse on huge facets of his entire life, and it's pretty sad.

.. The main reason they go to game stores is to get merch and hardware generally, or pseudo-merch if we're talking sky landers/Disney infinity etc. The smart kids will be asking their parents to check online whether physical or digital.

I didn't say she's a majority, but it's definitely not that uncommon. Physical isn't going away, but I can totally see its importance declining steadily. Her gen have no attachment to the concept.

If they add enough finishing moves for each enemy it should hopefully be ok.. I mean they showed the same death animations every time they died in the past too, you just didn't have to be right in their face for it.

I'm sure a lot of them need a bit of softening up before you can do a finishing move on them. :)

If you can run about 1 hit killing princes of hell etc it wouldn't work at all, I'm confident they're not doing that.

Digital is the first option of many right now, kids bought their PSN and XBL Minecrafts and their mobile/handheld games. A lot of them aren't going to go for physical outside of birthdays and so on. That's why the retailers all sell PSN / Steam / MS vouchers now. When my daughter is thinking of getting a game, she thinks download before physical, she browses virtual storefronts before contemplating looking in RL.

Sadly no, one was a drive failure (probably fixable, likely the laser) the second was a hilarious mess of brokenness where things would get progressively more surreal until it'd ultimately freeze up.. Like playing Soul Calibur and suddenly everyone's legs are on backwards, or getting close to a save point in code Veronica and then all the walls vanishing. It was funny at first, at least. :D

If they stop allowing us to play games decades down the line and we haven't got the data anymore we do what we've always done. Emulate. Download the games. Someone is always trying to archive this stuff. (

Most games have such online components now anyway, that disc or digital it makes no difference if the servers are disconnected.

And you have to do those massive patches even when you install from disc, often for a long time before playing. The adva...

.. And likely all future generations. Physical games are going the way of physical music, and it's unavoidable. You'll still be able to get some physical games and collector boxes (equivalent of the fancy Vinyl LPs you can still get, I guess..) but just because it's what you/we grew up with doesn't mean it's what's convenient and best for future players.

there will have to be some consideration for territories with terrible internet though.
