Sony's last success with the PS2 was not because of 1 or 2 games. It was because they had a complete catalogue. It always starts with Metal Gear first, then they other big titles. Plus the support of they're 1st party and 3rd party exclusives.
Well with practically no advertisement. It's not too surprising. Sony should have done the Halo 3 route, MGS4 burger king fries! Comes free with a Mk II. Milkshake!

All I can say, is that this game is going to be rushed out by Microsoft incomplete like Ninja Gaiden 2 and Halo 3.
What else out there that has the magnitude story, blend of action gameplay, stealth, and sheer technical values that MGS4 has?

There's about 9 hours of gameplay, and 8 hours of cutscenes. Then you can replay the game and try to find all the secrets and easter eggs. Then if you're content with finding everything, then play metal gear online.
who says there's no gameplay? I dare any bastard in here who says there's no gameplay to try and get the big boss emblem. No Alerts, No Kills, No Health items, No continues, and rush to beat it under 5 hours.

I work as a QA tech, and do a lot of quality inspections for our product. The bigger, more expensive, more valueable probe heads we do. The longer it takes to get the quality right, without rushing it to the customer.

Sony should continue investing money into they're first party studios. Which in turn, will always be exclusive.
On second hand, they also need to keep relations with 3rd party exclusives. Even if it means coughing out some money, they should do so. Sony could have already won this generation if they would have just secured GTA IV as an exclusive. Even Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, etc. etc.

That game clearly does not deserve a 10/10 everywhere.
It's amazing that MGS4 is getting a 10/10 everywhere even without the free swag like Halo 3. Imagine if Sony gave away a limited edition PS3 duffle bag filled with $500 worth of metal gear merchandise. The game would receive a 15/10 everywhere then.
This article would have made sense 1 1/2 years ago when it was true that developers had a hard time coming to grips with the system. But look at the multiplat games now, most are at minimum equal to the 360 counterparts. The fear of bad ports are long gone.
