Great news for those who love the whole achievement things. However what's pretty interesting is that it's a bit different than XBL. Instead of accumulating a big amount of points (for mostly no reason), you get to level up for different trophies (also for no reason lol)
I'm not huge on this achievement/trophy stuff to be honest, but it's certainly nice for those who want it.
Well, it survives because people still go to places that happen to have arcades as well. I don't think it's going anywhere. Look at places like Dave and Busters which has all those arcade games. Sometimes it's fun to go to a local place like that, get drunk, and have some fun playing all those games together.
Yeah you can do the same with a home console, but obviously it's just not the same kind of social environment.
Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank Future, and GT5P were all pretty great too.
Still going to rent it. People said the same thing about Haze being "the worst game i've ever played" when it wasn't super extremely terrible. It was just OK.
Well BFBC isn't that generic. It's pretty good as a game. However it could have used more time to polish up on the graphic's side of things. Heck, i'd even settle for a lower resolution for a non screen tearing image and anti aliasing.
It sucks how one person who speaks mostly for themself affects the reputation of the whole company. Good thing they cleared this one up fast. That person was in no position to gloat about anything.
POG, you obviously pulled vaseline comment for no reason. It's probably something you've heard on beyond3d.com forums and now claim it like you know what it is.
The vaseline effect generally happens when they use quincunx AA, a method of blurring rather than traditional anti aliasing. BFBC doesn't have that, BECAUSE IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY AA AT ALL! Same goes for the 360 version.
It's old news when the 360 is the lead platform, the PS3 version will be slightly inferior. Things just don't translate well from the 360 to the PS3. However it does translate better if it goes from PS3 to the 360. Even then, when a game is lead platform on PS3 they still have to keep the 360's hardware in mind.
But lastly, the differences are so minor now it doesn't even matter anymore. Just like Burnout Paradise, the PS3 version had the slightest edge. But it didn't even matte...
Yeah it looks ok. Now it's not THAT bad like you guys are making it out to be. I'll still rent it at the least.

No, it just means they are staying competitive. If it means a price cut, it can only be good for the consumers.
Sony hopefully will follow suit and and drop the price by $50 by holiday season. It can only mean more sales. Then they should try to get down to $299 and then cruise at that price for the next few years.

Well yes, quality games takes time. I think you both can agree to that.
But just take this for example, look at the multiplat games that were head-to-head before? The 360 always won because it was the better version. Simple. Agreed, right?
But look at today's multiplatform games. They're usually close, equal, or slightly better than the 360. Multiplatform developers are much more comfortable with the PS3's hardware now.
