It amazes me that not only are they practically the king of the PS3 hardware, pumping out polished AAA titles every year, pushing themselves to newer heights, always have new ideas, pushing the online community and STILL manage to have time to help other developers.
If there were more game companies like Insomniac and Ted Price, then the console wars would be less brutal. It would benefit the gamers by giving more people quality titles for our money.

Actually, reading Close Second's comment. He does not sound like a fanboy at all. He's actually right, the PS3 really doesn't have anything as gritty and R-Rated like Gears right now. UT3 doesn't count because it's multiplatform.
The only game I can think of that will be gritty, ruthless and bloody is God of War III. But we don't even know how that looks like yet.
Gears 2 is going to kick ass, be bigger, badder, and more badass than the original. But GOTY 2008, don't know about that one.
Besides, this whole "GOTY" award is pretty pointless, considering many different sources and outlets will have they're own GOTY awards.

I definitely agree. What's not to like about HOME? It's free, it's optional, it's not required to play games.
People act as if once HOME comes out, no games will ever come out. Why cant they see that the future direction will have both integrated to work with one another if the User wants to utilize it.
I hope Forza 3 achieve's GT5P's graphics or greater (even if it's at 720p resolution)
Because it has some of the best physics ever made in a racing game, but with only "decently" good graphics.
Once they reach the level of GT5P's graphics, then they will have a truely complete racing simulator.

Yes Rumble is definitely worth it. One of the features I used to miss when playing my 360 then playing the PS3.
Well it's not even just about paying. $50 a year really isn't all that much. But it's more about going online wherever your friends go.
I also am not paying for live for one main reason. I live in an alternate universe where most of my friends have a PS3 and we all play online on that. Which is why I buy multiplatform games on the PS3 instead.
But to others, most of their friends are on Live.

Well... the developers themself all say it's in alpha build. I'm talking about Killzone 2, Resistance 2, and even motorstorm Pacific rift. Heck, GG says most things we've seen in Killzone 2 is Pre-Pre-Alpha. Resistance 2 was stated to be "work in progress - alpha build" from the lastest Qore episode. And motorstorm pacific rift says the same thing in the most recent video showing the graphics engine.

Now now, obviously graphics don't make a great game. But those are straight up PS2 graphics. We know they can do better than that. We know the PS3 is much more capable.
So don't get mad at folks who aren't pleased with the visuals.
Gameplay is another story. I cant comment on that seeing as how I've never played the original SOCOMs. I'm going to get this game though to see what it's all about. Hopefully it's as good as everyone says, then the graphics wouldn't matte...
Instead of trying to "beat" Xboxlive, what sony needs to do is just sit down and listen to the PS3 consumers. They're the ones voicing the complaints, what features they want, and ultimately are the ones paying for the consoles.
I'm not so sure about that. Those guys hands just touching a playstation controller would be against their religion.
At least there are games coming out in 2009 worth looking foward to. There's still plenty of games in 2008 coming out.
