What's wrong with an 8? it means it's "Great" . It's when I see 10s that I get skeptical , a 10 should be rarely be given out .. something that's considered a masterpiece and not easily replicated . Even getting a 9 with a sequel should be only given if significantly ups the ante on the original and not just a little extra polish. I doubt comparing GoT and GoY is comparable to lets say BotW and TotK

Honestly the best path IMO for MS is to create a service for PS devices like what UBI+ or EA play has to where it's exclusively MS games so that Gamepass isn't directly competing with PS+ .

I think most of the IX awareness comes from the fact XIVs latest expansion is heavily inspired by IX , same thing kinda happened 2019 when Shadowbringers came out and had alot of VIII references . This was 8's 20th anniversary and at that time was when VIII hd came out
Honestly I'm going PC soon , have always been a PS console gamer but I couldn't tell you the last 1st party Sony game I've been interested in .. probably since the ps3/early ps4 . All the franchises I loved have become an after thought to them. Not a matter of boycotting but more of a lack of interest , it's not like I hate Sony or anything but they haven't done much to keep me wanting to stick around . I'm almost definitely not gonna get a ps6 at this point
Idc if it's on PS , I stick to my guns and am a lifelong boycotter of MS/Activision (even b4 the merger) , hell I'm a Fromsoft fan but never played Sekiro just because Activision published it. @Kakashi Hatake Ya i don't the like combat in VIII and sales aren't really the best argument as to why VIII is better . I was 16 when it released , VIII sold better because it rode off the hype train that was VII with new flashy graphics. XI also released after the ps2 released which killed momentum for Ps1 games and X released less then year later . .

FF8 has a great world esthetic, characters, music ,and best summons( GFs ) in the series but the combat, draw and junction system did not age well . Drawing magic sucks , hella tapping square when using GFs sucks, using magics sucks , level scaling sucks ( although you can break the game if you wanted..... it still sucks ) .... only redeeming quality in combat in general are limit breaks . Story is also a mixed back .... don't even start with me with the orphanage reveal .... like wtf . ...
I sorta agree , like reimagine the game as if it didn't need to be separated across 4 discs but with a Super Mario RPG or Links Awakening style graphics as to retain that puppet like quality that Hironobu Sakaguchi aimed for. Just add alittle more gameplay/side quest/cut content/npcs to areas that you'd be able to backtrack to that you otherwise couldn't before..
When I think back to my fondest memories as a PS gamer ps3 era was my favorite especially where their 1st party output was concerned, I just loved the multiplayer offerings with Resistance, Killzone, Warhawk, Mag, LBP . Now let's not forget they had a whole division dedicated to LIVE SERVICE gaming in the form of SOE which put out bangers like Everquest, DCUO, Planetside and Star Wars Galaxies but decided to sell it off .
LBP was basically a live service before live servic...
So turned on my laptop this morning and just got bombarded with a bunch on windows bs trying to sell me shit with no option to ignore on start up , this is the type of crap why I've never or will ever support anything Xbox
I'm more surprised S1 has never gotten a price drop and it was released in 2017 , Metroid P4 or a price drop was what I was waiting for to finally get a switch and nether of those happened yet lol. There's no reason for manufacturers to take a loss anymore especially now they aren't all directly competing with each other . Once PS swept the console market basically for itself all bets were off where profits are concerned as demand has never dipped for the ps5 or S1
I think that's more of a question for PS6 I believe, we all know all ps6 games will be cross gen with ps5 and PC . I plan on getting a nice mid range PC in the next couple months when sales kick in and when ps6 releases I just don't think getting it will be worth it especially if it releases with a $1k price tag plus the $80 psn yearly just to play online is tiresome to pay

Anybody who needed a real turned based narrative rich rpg was too busy playing E33 between April and June lol . Normally I'd probably be playing FF14 but they'll truly kill job design over the past couple expansions and haven't touch it in almost a year after being an active subscriber for 7 years. DQ12 was announced over 4 years ago with no real updates since , FF7 Re:3 being a couple years away they just don't have anything I'd be excited about for the foreseeable future...
MGO2 was hella fun and I still play MGO3 on the regular , was gonna wait for a sale but now might pick up Delta earlier then I intended . The community for these games seemly never die, I still see alot of the same people since I first started playing 7-8 years ago
