^^Fail. You do realize that MS historically is one of the most anti-competitive corporations on the planet, right? Stealing exclusives away from Sony through means of an endless MS Office cash pit is hardly what I would call competitive. Being competitive would be creating new IP's themself to compete AGAINST Sony's IP's. The things MS has done this console generation are far from pure competition, and certainly are NOT healthy for the industry.
I'm not a...
Absolutely. I don't understand what it is. Its like all these idiots in the media are collectively hopping on a bandwagon they made themselves, to make themselves look like they're "professional" and "fair" that they're being overly critical of a hyped release.
I love how the fact that a game has some minor flaws automatically constitutes that it is a BAD game. Wtf? Since when were blemishes life threatening wounds? The game as a whole is ...
COD4 guns were balanced? Maybe you forgot a little gun called the M16? Does "god gun" ring a bell? It should, if you're familiar with COD4s MP at all.
Wait a sec. Did G4 really just try to compare the two games, while putting GT5 on one of its less flattering courses, using a much slower car, and trying to compare damage while they were still a low level in GT5?
Okay. G4, again, you guys fail as intelligent and rational "journalists." Its pretty clear what message you were trying to deliver with this "comparison." It wasn't very discrete either. But hey, its pretty easy to skew comparisons like ...
The only real problem I have with the game is the jaggies and the screen tearing.
Otherwise I've been thoroughly enjoying the game. As people should be, instead of finding anything they can to groan about. PD did set themselves up for this though, due to the bar they themselves set for themselves with past releases and the fact that they took 5 years to make this. So I can somewhat understand the backlash they're getting.
^^^At least the conferences are completely commercial free. Thats the only thing G4s coverage is good for.
I don't understand how this guy only got to level 5 and had the nerve to write an official review. For crying out loud, I got to level 5 just by completing the first license tests. That's NOT EVEN CLOSE to actually playing the game.
That's why IGNs review is an absolute joke. Not because of his ignorant comments, or his ridiculous nitpicking, but for the fact that he literally didn't even play the game. And the fact that they put a new reviewer who is a self ...
I really hope it isn't an "iPad killer." I don't want a tablet device from them. I want a handheld GAMING system. A no compromise, very advanced gaming machine. Sure it will have multimedia features, the PSP does too, but I don't want that to be the focus and gaming to be an afterthought.
It has everything to do with demand. Prices get lowered to stimulate demand. Yes, even during sales. Thats the point of a sale. To stimulate demand. When demand is through the roof like MS is trying to say it is, then prices don't drop a few weeks later, especially not from the manufacturer. Companies typically don't put hot items on sale at a lower price weeks after getting released. Not even for Black Friday. They would do a different kind of sale without lowering the price,...
Same goes for here in the rest of the world.
I think a lot of these reviews are being pretty unfairly harsh. I don't know what it is, whether it was the impossibly high expectations or what, but it seems like many of the reviewers have been hit with a brick of ignorance.
And the sad thing is, this sort of thing reflects on us as a gaming culture. The Japanese devs and publishers hear about things like this, and that's when they start assuming all American gamers feel this way, and the disconnect between what Ame...
You guys, please stop clicking on these kinds of troll reviews. All you're doing is giving them exactly what they're looking for. Stop making these hot stories on N4G, and just ignore them, no matter how obnoxious and ignorant the reviewer is. Otherwise they've won.
Agreed. IX is personally my favorite Final Fantasy, so I'm looking forward to the Last Story even more now.
Lol @ IGN calling any of their editors "experts." Why is Greg Miller even there, the first thing he says is "I didn't finish it, I'm not a big first person shooter fan....I only played 2 hrs multiplayer." Yea IGN, they're definitely Call of Duty "experts."
@ Actual Gamer: Yes you do have to hold something. Watch again, he's holding a wooden pole or something.
Is this really all that amazing? Pretty sure we've already seen Move augmented reality demos exactly like this.
Yes I know its just demonstrating a hack, but its not really a good example of taking advantage of Kinects technology. All I'm sayin is that the hack isn't all that unique and there should be much more interesting things coming from the Kinect scene later on. I'm not trying to stir up a Move vs. Kinect debate.
Waits for the media to blame his violent video games in 3...2...1....
They already have started working on it. They released two patches in the past two days fixing MANY of the issues. One of those issues was fixing the spawn system. Only a week after the game came out. That really says something about Treyarch. IW took almost 3 months to fix some of the game breaking issues in MW2 like the Javelin and Care Package glitch. And those glitches are MUCH easier to fix than something like the spawn system, which really requires a lot more investigative work tr...
The first official screenshots and video for Halo were made at Macworld 1999 when Steve Jobs brought Bungie out on stage. Few people realize that Halo was supposed to be a Mac exclusive to help boost Macs in the gaming world. But MS did what they do best, and stole them from Apple.
This screenshot is NOT from the final game. This is from the original Mac version of Halo in 1999.
IGN played the game until the tires fell off. Yea, the shit-for-brains reviewer hit a pothole an hour into the game causing him to get a flat tire.
