Oh hai Citan
Why the hell can't the media instead say, "iPhones got some cool games, and so does NGP with its amazing graphics, and so does 3DS with the classic Nintendo franchises all in glasses-free 3D. Its going to be great for gamers having all these choices, and I'd strongly recommend picking up as many of these consoles as you can afford in order to enjoy as many awesome games as possible."
Not sure why we don't see more articles lik...
@firelogic did you read the article? Actually the author describes two different occasions where he got motion sickness from playing games
Does the press have to sensationalize EVERYTHING. Let's let the damn thing come out before sensationalizing an unknown factor. A single person does not equal the entire population, although I'm sure the authors self centeredness would have him believe so.
Sensational media is getting extremely tired and annoying.
What's even more annoying are fanboys who keep saying "why buy a 3DS if you're just going to turn off 3D." Right, because ...
Hardcore or not, Pilotwings is a great game and I used to LOVE Pilotwings 64. I think the launch games aren't bad at all, launching with SSF4 3D and Dead or Alive is pretty good for Nintendo given their complete lack of third party launch support in the past.
I remember after Lost Odyssey came out how he said he "would not be swayed by fads" in regards to real-time RPGs and getting rid of turn based RPGs.
I still love turn based, and I'm sure millions of JRPG fans still do as well. The problem isn't JRPGs needing an overhaul....the problem is just needing the same quality and passion for making a stellar traditional JRPG up to snuff with the old school greats.
^^^Fanboya existed last gen as well. What re you talking about. Fanboys have existed since the dawn of time. The SNES/Genesis console wars were probably some of the most heated fanboy wars.
Agreed with Jio. And this is coming from an iPhone/iPad owner. They're great for some things, but I do NOT want the handheld gaming industry to move in this direction. And I hope publishers don't get blinded by all the money on the iPhone.
I just wish all these ignorant sensationalists in the media would stop considering the handheld market a Zero sum game, as of there's only room for either smartphones or consoles, but not both. Sorry dumb asses, but just becaus...
Or Xenoblade. Or Soma bringer. I really hope they're translation teams are overstretched because they're currently translating Xenoblade. Otherwise they need to let another publisher localize these games instead of basically holding them hostage from the world.
Nintendo bought Monolith Soft and has basically taken them hostage, not sharing any of their games with the rest of the world.
They better bring Last Story here soon.
People are acting like 3 hours is the MOST you're going to get.
Lol, turn off wifi unless you're on the internet, turn down brightness unless you're outdoors, turn off any other setting like that, and I'm sure you'll see reasonable battery life even with the 3D turned on. With the 3D turned off, I'm sure it will be pretty reasonable like 8 hours. In all seriousness, I doubt many people will be turning on the 3D effect when they're out and about,...
@Darthv72, I can't stand when people always argue that certain products are only popular because of "name brand." Well the product had to something right in the FIRST PLACE to even get that "name brand," so clearly Nintendo did something right. Same with Apple, they literally invented the entire mobile OS market as it exists today and everyone else is just copying, there's a reason for their success. Nintendo invented handheld gaming practically and they've alw...
MS just wants publicity on WP7, simple as that. They've seen how much publicity the PS3 and iPhone jailbreaks get, and they want that spotlight. Problem is, the reason those two jailbreaks get so much publicity was because they are for two extremely popular products.
I think its funny MS is trying to act like they embrace hackers, "dev-creativity," etc. Well if that were the case, then WP7 would have been an open platform like Android from the get go. Same w...
Microsoft is just desperate for some much needed attention to their WP7 platform. Their acting as if they're all pro-dev creativity etc, but in reality they've seen the kinds of publicity iPhone and PS3 jailbreaks have gotten and they want that spotlight on WP7. The difference is that the publicity with the iPhone and PS3 jailbreaks all happened because it was for two extremely popular products.....WP7 not so much.
Yep, Nintendo needs to stop being greedy and share these two great games with the rest of the world. Especially Xenoblade, I've been waiting for a new Takahashi epic for a very long time. At the very least give us some english subtitles and I'll be happy.
If you search that guys username on google you'll find that he's a member to several different ps3 hacks sites. And seeing as a jailbroken ps3 can run custom .pkg files that can say you're playing anything you want it to say, I don't think much more needs to be said. Just put two and two together.
@Dysmorphic Don't even bother, its pointless trying to argue with a rational, mature mindset on this website. All you need to know is that COD is the most popular series in the world, therefore its the shittiest. Don't forget, people on the internet (and this website especially) love to hate on the top dog and cheer for the underdog. It doesn't matter whether or not things like you said are actually fairly rational and mature, all that matters is that COD is highly successful ...
Yea exactly. Its all about the processor technology and how power efficient it is, as well as the screen technology. Screen backlight uses up more like half of the battery power.
But the mobile space is in dire need of battery innovation. Apple has been doing good things for advancing battery technology in consumer-level products, with the iPad and Macbooks getting industry leading 10 hrs of battery life, 1 month standby, and an unmatched 1000 recharge lifespan. However, ...
Maybe people will understand now why Nintendo has typically chosen slightly lower specs for their handhelds in the past. Because of battery life. And price. This is the first time Nintendos really done something like this, making an expensive and advanced handheld.
This sort of insight should already be common sense. Of course R&D costs companies a ton of money. I shake my head anytime I see a "costs to make" article. Apparently these guys think that products just design and build themselves. More or less its just a reflection of how much ignorance there is in journalism, that an article like this needs to remind people of the obvious.
This is simply what happens when you play a game that is the highest selling. Unfortunately, the more people there are, the more likely you are to find ignorance. Especially when its anonymous like the internet is. Anonymity breeds immaturity.
Um no its 4 maps, and 1 zombie map, which is practically a new game in itself. I'm not gonna debate the price, but the Ascension zombies map is the best zombie map to date and really completely feels like a fresh new experience, as all zombie maps usually do.
Hate on Activision for pricing it that way, but I think Treyarch has done a great job trying to at least give VALUE for the 15 spent. MILES better than IW basically giving 3 new maps for the same price. The new zo...
