Because Sonys consoles have always been "open?" Last time I checked, they were suing people for "opening" up the PS3 to developers.
I'm sure they will have apps on it, but there's no chance Sony will make it "open" in the sense that users can download and install any code they want on it. It will probably be much like the iPhone, a curated platform that is moderated by Sony. And there's nothing wrong with that, "open" is no...
It would be nice to have an option to turn it off for games that don't really use it, just to save battery life. Or to be able to control screen brightness separately, like being able to turn the brightness all the way down for the bottom screen while keeping the top screen max brightness. Certainly would helpful for getting extra juice out of it.
Yea, and for the people who are saying "well there's 3DS' still at stores around here," remember that the Wii had a sort of attenuated success as well. Launch day wasn't nearly as strong as 2-3 months after launch. I could walk into any store and pick up a Wii on launch day. 3 months later I couldn't find them anywhere, and it remained that way for nearly a year.
This is the sort of product that will have that sort of effect as well. The more peo...
Yea, he's been doing this before Facebook took off. I had no idea he was worth a billion nowadays....jesus
@Objective- and do you expect the fanboys to be objective as well?
It doesn't matter whats shown to them, or what the facts are. The disc could be covered in red and they would argue that its clearly green.
He's "obviously" a 360 fanboy? Really? Just because he doesn't guzzle Sony cum like you?
You fanboys are about as intelligent as a fucking brick. Just because someone has the rational mindset to criticize a company that deserves criticism for doing things as pathetic as this, doesn't make that person a fanboy or even a Sony hater at all. It just makes that person rational. Something that a fanboy like you is not even able to comprehend, because a fa...
I'm sure you feel the same way about 3D gaming on the PS3 right?
Oh no, you probably don't because it has the Sony brand behind it. 3D is far from perfect, but its certainly an interesting addition for gaming. As both Sony and Nintendo seem to believe. I'm sure if NGP had a Parallax display (which it will probably get eventually in the future), you all would be glorifying it.
And don't comment on the 3DS "giving you headaches" unt...
Heck yea, one of the greatest soundtracks in gamings history. Yasunori Mitsuda is my favorite composer of all time. The soundtracks for Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, and Chrono Cross add so much value to the impact of those games. I couldn't imagine watching the scene in Xenogears with Chu Chu "awakening" listening to anything other than "Flight" (the song in the video).
Trying to define art is just idiotic. Art is open to interpretation, thats what makes it art. I personally see any medium involving creativity, design, and expression to be a form of art. And I certainly believe that truly unique and innovative game design to be an artform. But someone who doesn't have an understanding or appreciation for video games (Roger Ebert) would not be able to see its artistic value, and should not try to comment on it.
I actually did a speech...
So Xenogears finally made it here. 9.99 is a hell of a deal for one of gamings greatest gems.
It simply AMAZES me how you guys all of a sudden turn into such good citizens worried about piracy and doing the right thing, but yet I'm sure many of you either pirate your music and PC software or have at least done so plenty of times in the past.
@Shadow Flare: So then according to your logic, the gun store should be the one held responsible because they sold the gun to the person that left it on the school ground? I guess so huh. Screw the 2nd amendment, close down ...
Lack of wheel support makes a big difference for me. I have both games, I rarely play Forza now because none of my wheels work for it, and I'm not going to shell out an additional $250 for another quality wheel (Fanatec GT2). I have the G27 and theres no way I can play any racing game with a controller.
But theres just little details about Forza 3 that make GT5 more enjoyable for me. For example, when you're going 150mph and slam on the brakes going into a turn, th...
Not just that, but the tracks just don't LOOK more realistic at all. I mean, the rendering of Forza 3 looks gamey, while the rendering of GT5 looks more natural and real. Its a shame that such ignorance gets spread through publications like this, and people who really don't know much about the topic just believe whatever the editors say.
The tracks in Forza also have VERY exaggerated tire marks around turns and such. It just looks more natural on GT5 and not as exa...
Clearly, you don't have a fucking clue what sim racing is. Go back to your cave troll. Come back when you've actually PLAYED a sim. Like rFactor or Live for Speed. Then compare the driving physics of those sims to Forza and Gran Turismo 5. If you're an intelligent and rational person, you'll quickly realize which game is more "arcadey." If you're a blind idiot, then you won't, and will probably continue to make yourself believe that Forza is more of a s...
Nah, just pure incompetence for an automotive magazine. You would expect an automotive publication to know what car physics and handling should be like, and how cars should feel, but apparently they don't. Or they just don't know how to translate that into the virtual feeling.
I literally lol'd at them saying the tracks have more real life detail in Forza 3. Like a person below said, Forza 3 widened them from real life and made it more "friendly" for ...
^^^Are you retarded or just an idiot?
I can't imagine Sony pricing it any higher than that if they want to truly compete against Nintendo. Any higher and they risk the price shock of the PS3 initially all over again. 299 would be enough to make someone think twice about picking up a 3DS.
Bioware made almost the exact same claim about Mass Effect 2 before details were shown for it. They said compared to the original Mass Effect, "Mass Effect 2 will be like what Baldurs Gate 2 was compared to its first game." Something along those lines.
Washington, if you had half a brain, and perhaps watched the entire video, you should have been able to sort of indirectly guess what radiosity is based on the types of demonstrations the video showed. Its pretty obvious if you actually pay attention. They show demonstrations obviously with radiosity, and then without it, to demonstrate the effect. Its pretty obvious. Either you're just not perceptive enough to put two and two together, or you're just a jackass.
You are the author of this article correct? You sound like a 15 year old fanboy. I almost laughed when you said "ask any rational gamer and they'll say the same thing." Yea, like you're the one to comment about what rational people would say. Well, first you'd have to be rational yourself in order to understand how rational people think. And a 15 year old fanboy doesn't exactly fit the mold of a rational person.
Trying to push your opinion as fact or...
