It needs software first before the price cut. The price cut should also be time perfectly (i.e. don't time it together with blockbuster games).

I have a PS3/360 and my advice is that when getting a pc, one must go all out like the poster above me. Besides, you can spread the cost when building a pc. Buy a cpu with onboard GPU then buy the high end GPU later on ($300 or greater GPU). Well, that's what I did with my build.

Emulating the Wii is difficult but its all good when you have great hardware but emulating PS3 games through sheer hardware power will take time/years. the PS3 uses different architecture (Cell+RSX) and it is difficult to do software emulation for that.
Even though Origin has bad rep especially from Steam fans, I applaud them for bringing competition.
To haters pointing out Zipper, if your a sane businessman and one your teams are not producing any profitable venture, you know that you have to dissolve that team because cost>benefits you got from them. Geesh, haters used some logic please.
Just don't coincide it with Halo 4 and Black Ops 2. I need to play those games first and avoid a huge backlog again.
I would give it time much like the 3DS. Price cut +software would help it.

It should be the wii first when it comes to games. Hardware is not enough nowadays, software is needed and optimization is most important in equipment which are closed to upgrades. I enjoy the ipad2 and will probably buy ipad5 or something where it can probably match console quality games though I doubt developers would makes games over $20.

PS2 is stil not retired. The PS3 would take that place of PS2 as the budget console for next gen.
I am just waiting for blog/news articles that will say that the consoles are doom because of this and Ipad is the future.
Many journalist today are on the mobile fad aka iOS/Android and wants to kill off PC/laptop/console all together. One day they would realize that those things are still not enough to replace those things.
Post-PC era my a**, desktops are still essential for me because that's a workstation/gaming rig rolled into one. Tablets/smartphones are for casual use and it only kills the lower segment of the market.

They should implement their 4 screen/One sony approach to the fullest. They have the hardware, the music/movie/video game companies in their grasp. They should stop infighting with one another and make a hit product. Well, the Japanese government would help them anyway so that is a plus.
