Im on a wait and see approach for the vita. i will buy it if the software comes. So far Disgaea, Persona and Gravity rush are my to buy list. I'll wait for other games though. Heck, there might be a price cut during the holidays.
Im just using a popular example. I know COD is also using elements from FPS if you trace it back to the 90's PC era. Heck, many games were classified as Doom clones.
It has the elements of Super smash Bros.
Bayonetta has all the elements of DMC.
Dante's Inferno has all the elements of GOW.
Uncharted has all the elements of Tomb Raider.
Almost all FPS has the elements of COD!
All with different coats and tweaks on it. Are they bad games? No, they were all enjoyable and fun to play.

You are right. Still, they came from Santa Monica Studios and since this is a small preview, I expect they can tweak things and bring features that can differentiate it from SSB.
I assure you, every reviewer would point out the SSB clone thing and I think a majority of them would see it as a negative.
Vita will probably be the focus on E3. PS4 would be a long shot.

Sega became 3rd party and now they are experiencing huge losses. There is money on hardware. When Nintendo goes 3rd party, their hardware will suffer and they need major restructuring.

The Yen is getting stronger and the European Debt crisis is unpredictable. That has more weight than Nintendo's so called pride.
Digital game prices will not go down as long as retailers are there. Sony would not risk undermining retailers because they might not sell their games. Going digital only for games would be difficult because of the bandwidth involve.
You have good points on the disadvantage of PC gaming. But it still has a huge exclusive portfolio (ie RTS and MMORPG's) which consoles don't have.
Fanboys are the same in PC gaming though especially AMD/Nvidia ones.
Buying and building a gaming PC is like lego to me nowadays. Its a good hobby, albeit an expensive one.

I also prefer gameplay over graphics. Longevity/playtime is also important. That is why I enjoy JRPG's because they have long playtime for SP and play RTS on PC.
The dance games are fun if you have people in your house. I think that's the best games for kinect.
I expected higher sales from Witcher 2. But I think many bought the PC version. I personally did not buy the 360 version because of that reason.

It depends on the price for the majority of people. But the 360 and PS3 are cheap now. The Tablet controller would probably be its selling point.
