The 680 is still the flagship for now. Its price ($500) is not mid tier.
Im curious to see a 7970 OC vs 680 OC but I think (based on the benchmarks so far) it will be neck to neck between the two. However, the 680 is priced lower and a -30 watt advantage.
AMD MUST lower its price. The 7950 and 7970 is overpriced when it entered the market. The 680 comes in on a great price with slightly better performance in gaming.Hmmm, I might buy two 680's for my plan...
Indeed, prices of the previous generation of cards such as the 580 is going down. Now Im looking into a eyefinity/surround setup, though i am hesistating because of the performance drop when playing with three monitors. I also need multi monitors for work so I may give in to temptation.
Now, its either dual 580 or dual 7950, or i might go one 680 first and a 2nd one in the future.
I wish all monitors have little to no bezels, until then I would only game on my HDTV with my pc.
So it will be a repeat of the previous generation of cards , amd needs to do some price adjustments now in order to match the price/performance ratio of nvidia.
Tablets such as Ipads must beat/kill laptops first in functionality. The sign that tables would do this is when Apple itself would stop their macbook line.
The new Ipad cant even beat the Vita, let alone the consoles, and that is 6 year technology. The Ipad would only beat it if they follow Android's hardware race.
okay, the PS3 which was $599, had every tech put together and some good aesthetics (Orginal look>Slim look) had been bash because of its over-engineering and price....and the new ipad is 499 and is praised as a game changer.
And I don't want to buy a new ipad because I want to play a new exlusve game for a newer Ipad.
People who are waiting for next gen should take a glance into this card. Still, the 580 is overkill for now for all games unless next gen consoles comes out. Still, if you are an enthusiast, one 580 might not be enough, some people I know have 2-3 7970's just for bragging rights and some power for their eyefinty setup.
Spot on, I cant do full digital since the broadband speeds in my country are not up to par. Well, this is still a rumor so there are more necessary information that is withheld (around 99% information).
My pc has a disc drive but I have steam. The reason for that is I cant download games which are so BIG! Damn, MS dont do this. My broadband still sucks even though its the best in my country (Philippines).

You forget to add that cost will rise as games become more complex and requires more graphics. There is also battery life.

Uhm, its yearly releases so eventually that would happen but it would be after a few iterations, right now, the hardware of vita is still more powerful (quad cpu and customized gpu vs dual cpu and quad gpu).
Overtake the vita first in gaming, then the PS3 and 360 before making those claims.
the "new ipad" has Dual core cpu(A5X) with quad gpu (SGX543MP4), the vita has quad core on both cpu (Arm Corect A9) and gpu (SGX543MP4+).
I find that the battery con should be applied to the Ipad too. Try an Infinity Blade marathon on it and my Ipad 2 would last about 4-5hours. Seeing as the NEW Ipad has improved battery but a mode demanding screen, I expect the same battery life.
The GPU of the new ipad is inferior I think because the Vita has a modified version of the same GPU and the vita has a more powerful processor.
Still, I hope the next Ipad would introduce something better than this, I...

Okay, I now look into the specs, its the same with the vita, the problem of course is that the vita is a modified version by sony, that is why there is a (+) on it, the processor is not on par with it, so the ram is only the thing that outmatches it based on inside specs.
I knew Kaz would change some things. This is a step into a the right direction.
Knowing Nvidia, it would be $599 as the the gtx 680 is at $499 right now.
