I could also just pick up the phone and call some of my XBL friends, but the long distance charge from Canada to the UK is a bit expensive. I enjoy a chat while I play COD4 and my chum in the UK plays something else.

Even a few friends of mine that had neither, I recommended they buy the first and save the cash since it can be had cheap.
One is all I need. I have two none rumbles now, but 95% of the time the 2nd is never touched. So I will either buy one of these or a nice third party as they become available.

NOW, don't get all bent out of shape. I am not saying PSN sucks or anything like that. I am just saying, that as a user of BOTH, I prefer XBL a good bit more and have no issue paying the $50 for 13 months of use (which works out to be $3.84 per month). I am also NOT a fanboy. I am a proud owner of a 360 and PS3. Each I like more or less for different reasons. I do not share my gamer name...
The account AUTOMATICALLY reverts to SILVER when you do not use gold. I also have NEVER used my credit card to purchase it or renew it. I take the 10 minutes and buy a 12+1 Month (so 13 months) membership for $50 and have NEVER had a problem.
I do however have MANY friends that do AUTOMATIC renewal and some have since given up GOLD for a bit and as stated, and AUTOMATIC downgrade to Silver happens, but the Gamer-tag, acheivement points, etc stay in-tack with no change.

I use both, love my PS3 and 360 ... however, to be very honest XBL > PSN in MANY ways.
Maybe HOME will change my mind, but till then, XBL is my online choice any day over PSN

I hope they look VERY CLOSE and revamp the system and force it to be more strict on retailers and to whom they sell. Also make parents VERY AWARE of what they are buying and the negative influence it may have.

... I still find myself playing games (online in particular) on my 360 far more. Mind you, Ratchet and Clank and UT3 are awsome, BUT ... my 360 still gets most of the GAME action.
PS3 online being free is great, BUT, I will not BS ... XBL is a much better online service/experience with better communication features.

I really like the new look of PSN. It comes across as far more user friendly.
