I don't want BR "OR" HD-DVD till the war is sorted out in regards to HD media. So did I pay the extra for the HD-DVD that would have drove the price of my 360 ... NOPE !!
IF BR was the outright HD winner and that was a fact (but fact is nobody knows) ... then a PS3 purchase for me is a NO BRAINER.
BUT, with that being said ... I agree ... for the price you do get a BR player. WIth that being said, if I could get one with NO BR and another $100 cheaper ...
I guess I just was never into card games other than Poker for money.
Actually, the flyer from Future Shop arrived today with a nice bundle of the Premium system, Forza 2 and GH3 game and guitar for $399.
I payed $100 and tax just for the GH3 game.
NICE to see Christmas battles starting already on deals. I am waiting on the PS3 for a bit closer to the time to see what package deals show up.

It is a fantastic games WELL WORTH the money. And I have read about the lag, but myself ... never experienced it. Fact is, if you NEVER played TF2 .... Portal, HL2, HL2 Epi1, HL2 Epi2 are worth the price alone.

I am crossing my fingers on this FW update. If I see the function I want, I will buy a PS3 at Christmas and have both it and the 360. I they do not iron it out and give me that function, as well as a private chat function with a bud while we both play different games, it may very well be a deal breaker for me and the PS3.
I am WAY TO USE TO that functionaity to not have it on a console.
... but to price JUST the price of the video card is kind of OFF. Last time I bought a video card and sat it on a desk, it didn't do much. You still need a PC with it with RAM, and hard disk space, a decent motherboard, duel core .. etc ... so .... in the end .. do I think the PC verison looked better ... sure ... by a big enough margin to pay the extra for a PC over a console .... PLEASE UNDERSTAND ... I Love Halo. It is a great story and draws you in ... BUT ... when it comes to story, kick azz environments, interaction with pretty much EVERYTHING, FPS THINKING rather than just run and gun .... the HALF-LIFE series is UNTOUCHABLE.
Once again, this is NOT to knock on Halo. I really really like it a boat load, but HL is one of the only FPS games TO DATE (and I have been playing for well over 25 years) to grab you by the hair, drag you into the world it cr...

Bulb life really depends on how you use your TV. My last RPTV gave me about 5 years at normal dialy use. I think the extra bulbs will run you around $200
