Maybe the launch consoles ... but the 360 has not been noisy for a while now. Only time it gets a but loud (and that is an overstatement) is then the DVD drive is spinning up ... but with the HD-DVD add on, the 360's DVD drive has nothing in it to spin. It is in the HD-DVD player. My bud just bought a 360 with the new Falcon chip and BenQ drive and even when spinning up the internal drive .. it is quiet.

The new Falcon is MUCH MORE reliable. IF the vids actually have the falcon based MB's ... other than someone SAYING it does rather than show that the machine is actually FALCON equipt ... it is all nothing more than hear-say.
But I'd still love to see the vids ... and the Mexicans with the 360 torn apart ... just the quick look at the MB tells it is NOT.

My understanding is the new batch does not even show the RROD, it now has a differenct LED sequence "IF" you get the error.

My bud just bought a new model (lot # 0738) and it FOR SURE RUNS COOLER and I find even quiter (I think it is the new BenQ drive).
BTW, my 360 is still going strong .... that is with a good 2 hrs a night easy playing games that take the horsepower to the limit.

But I had two friends with PS3 issues. The issue you explained was one and the other issue with my other buds was the BR drive accepting the dics but then just makeing a weird noise like it wanted to read, then even spaced CLICKS.

people are still beating this to death ?? We all know the reburbs are JUNK JUNK JUNK. The newwer machines are stable.
MS needs to DESTORY all the old RECYCLED machine. It is still giving them a bad name, when in fact the newer machines are much much better. And if you have the HDMI version with a lot number of 0734 or newer which has the new heatsync setup, new 65nm chip, new DVD drive and NO MORE X-CLAMP ... you have a rock solid machine.

.. we should let Infinity Ward do ALL the quality control on ALL games for the PS3 and XBOX 360. "NO GAME" will hit market until it is up to Infinity Wards standards.
If the games turn out to be like COD4, it is a WIN WIN for all.

And for once ... I would actually buy a special edition if this was it.
The upgrades in features (or lack there of) that I have been waiting so long for, will push my PS3 purchase off that much longer.
And it really sucks, I wanted one for Christmas, but XMB communications features is HUGE to me.
I like the function that my PSP would have, but that feature is FAR from the top of my WANT list.
