When facebook etc was announced I did assume it was only for gold members, simply because gold members pay to get a better service and that means improvements like facebook and twitter.

Current pricing (only checked on retailer) in europe is 249 euro for xbox elite 299 euro for ps3 slim.
The price difference between a 120 and 250 gb 2.5 hard disks really isn't that big, esspecially considering the doubling of space.
So I can see why they would upgrade the elite with 250 gb when they run out of their stock.
Looking further down the line, I can see Microsoft coming with an 500 GB hard drive (not included with xbox).

For that matter a redesign (slim) for Microsoft might have a bigger impact than expected.
Simply by making a slim version a new xbox360 design might distance itself from the dreaded red light issue.
Also I do wonder if a smaller console would appeal more to the mass audience they are trying to reach (when looking at the wii).

No matter which game is the better one, developers will be taking notice on the sale numbers if infamous would have also launched on the xbox 360 they would have made a lot of extra cash.
At the end of the day they will need the money for the liquidity of their company, new games and ofcourse to pay their employees.
