….how about games?
I love Returnal, Demons Souls and Horizon 2.
And I have a ton of games at launch for Psvr2.
No waiting 3 years for Starfield, which they had to buy instead of make like promised for over a decade…
-same controller
-same game drought
-Double price for Xbox live to push Game Pass
-SSD half the speed of the ps5, creating future bottle neck for 3rd party devs
I wouldn’t even include monopolizing their SSD expansion system as any of their “biggest mistakes”. If anything, it gives insight in to how monopolizing Activision franchises onto one console will impact their quality of output.
For me there was…. I love Runner, Pavlov, and Rez
Interesting…
It takes additional time to dev for, so yea.
This deal isn’t just about CoD.
Anybody that has played poker understands why there are preset rules for buying back in after losing.
Xbox is doing the equivalent of using their dad’s Amex to buy back in after running dry on chips 5 times in a night. Except, they’re now trying to buy back more chips than the entire table/competitors have accumulated.
Sony has a good chip position because Xbox played their hands poorly all night. Now, ...
You are “given” nothing from Game Pass, it’s closer to renting.
And I never minded paying $70 for a great game. I have a bigger issue with decade-long droughts for game output.
If we got a new Xbox game instead for every PR maneuver, then Xbox wouldn’t need to panic-buy CoD.
How are all Xbox owners not as upset as me: M$ doesn’t have the output they’ve been promising for years unless this monumentally large deal goes through.
So, they’ve been lying for over a decade.
Yah, I don’t want them to buy their way out of trouble, either.
Just release some of those games you’ve been promising for years instead.
I don’t see how his ruins Sony’s reputation.
Sony is acting just like I am as an Xbox owner since x360: they don’t think the largest media buyout in history should be what fulfills M$’s decade-long empty promise of “the games ARE coming.”
I want to see what they have been working on for all of this time, not what they can buy up last minute to make up for lost time.
So, have they really been unable to produce anything but Halo Infinite,...
I think the game lineup already implies this.
They plan to push hardware the old fashioned way: outstanding software development.
“Look at this piece of junk, nobody wants it anyways…”
**aggressively counters market regulators with expensive lawyers and PR articles to downplay and pursue largest media buyout in history**
I worked on YouGov’s gaming team.
All surveys can be skewed by design, and YouGov research is not immune to that.
If Microsoft launched this survey solely off YG’s platform, with no input from their researchers, then skewing is all the more likely.
For example, how did they sample? Certain demographics are likely to care less about CoD.
You need to go back to your social responsibilities…. The rest of us will enjoy the game how it was intentionally designed.
Psvr2 tech like foveated rendering and eye tracking help a lot, not to mention 4k low-items it’s OLED screens refreshing at 120hrz.
If CoD went VR, then everyone would look into it.
Pavlov is pretty great imo, and Firewall Ultra is being compared to Chaos Theory’s Merc Vs Spies multiplayer with their advanced U5 lighting effects (ie shooting out lights).
Those two shooters would garner mainstream attention for VR if they were labeled Tom Clancy or CoD.
Hmmm…..
Nobody is dropping $18.3 Billion on one studio.
It’s not that they aren’t worth it, just who has the money? Not Sony, and M$ wouldn’t be allowed to buy both CoD and GTA with Office money.
Nobody can afford Take Two.
GTA will be multiplat until it starts to suck.
It would take an obscene buyout price of I justify anybody giving up Mtxs for GTA6’s online.
Do it in VR
