Aside from form factor even this gen PS4 & XBOX are PCs they're just highly optimized for one purpose which is games at an affordable entry point.

It was an okay game but never in the running for game of the year. Gears 5 would have to totally flip the formula on its head to have been considered GOTY material. Still a fun enjoyable game though.

At a time when games are becoming more and more disposable it’s refreshing to give sometime for the developers and title to shine before it gets thrown into the vast ocean of content to be forgotten a month later.
Even with some critic troll reviews the game is at an 86 overall. So if this gameplay is in your wheelhouse you may like it. I'd suggest waiting on some extended gameplay if on the fence as it seems to be a survival grind type game to me.
