i wouldn't say they are "probably dead" but when you're manufacturing these things there are always going to be errors...the more headroom you give yourself the better your yields will be...
if you want your GPU to use 20 CU's...and only build them with 20CU's on the die then any GPU's with faults must be tossed and you lose money and you have less working chips for production so you cant make as many consoles..and lose more money...
cores matter a lot...whenever the number of cores expands generally clock speeds decrease..
not long ago 3ghz would have been considered "slow" on single and dual core processors...as time goes on clock speeds increase, and then we generally see the number of cores expand again...
for instance...
maybe you dont remember far enough back to when dual core CPU's first started becoming mainstream...clock speeds took significant hits...
most standalone CPUs are not 8 core either

Jesus Christ with this....Sony sold over 1million PS4's within the first 24 hours in North America...that means there is AT LEAST that many DS4's out there...probably a lot more...
there will always be issues with some products, its unfortunate but it happens...lets not jump the gun on DS4 issues like everyone did yesterday with console failures and then look silly because it would take more 10,000 failures for it to be even a 1% problem...so even if 10,000 people hav...
the negatives are always louder than the positives...people with broken PS4's are most likely to get online and complain than those that have them that work...
also...chances are, if you have one there is a reason for it and you are involved in the gaming community...
These articles are borderline irresponsible by the media at this point...ALL hardware is going to suffer from some faulty units...its inevitable unfortunately...

nope not all about resolution but when a game is available on both platforms...i want the one that looks and performs better...so in that case ill take the PS4 version...
i dont care if a game is 1080p...but if its 1080p on one console and 720p on the other, that tells me a lot about the hardware in the console itself...
id prefer my gaming console to use its power for...oh, idk...GAMES

HBO Go, Watch ESPN...those are the two big ones id like...but my 360 has them and ill be keeping that hooked up...
Pandora would be nice too, but i realize that is in direct conflict with Sony's own services...
