With such an emphasis on sales, I'm surprised Foxgod and tatotiburon play anything but Wii Sports. Why would such sales aficionados like yourselves stoop down to the level of Gears with its measly 7-figure sales numbers?
Don't get your hopes too high on that. I've played through both, and I didn't notice any difference at all. This is the first time I've even heard anything about different vehicle controls.
It seems like only yesterday the 360 fanboys were claiming TLaD/TBoGT were as big as Vice City and San Andreas. Memories...
Anyways, I've played them both on 360. They're fun, better than the original game. I dunno if they're "$40" good, but they're worth your time unless you just don't like GTA. I think the shotgun with explosive rounds in TBoGT is the best weapon in the entire series.
It never stops. Microsoft better be paying this dude by the truckload. Their PR bullsh*tters are in a league of their own.
Pop-in is an issue associated with all games running on UE3, even games made by Epic. It's one of the engine's signatures, texture delay.
I'm willing to bet that Alan Wake this year will still look better than Gears 3 next year. UE3 can only do so much, and it hasn't been the best for a long time, even if we're just counting the 360.
Don't you run a gaming blog that gets submitted here often, Rashid? If so, you're doing it wrong. Pay attention to the industry you write about.
I much prefer the days when Rikitatsu spends his time worshiping his Hideki Kamiya shrine in private, instead of spreading the gospel of his man crush/obsession online.
Judging by what's been shown, it's graphically identical to Fallout 3. Bethesda needs to overhaul that damn engine (I know Obsidian is making it, but it's Bethesda's engine). Fallout 3 was the most glitched up game I have ever played in the 20+ years I've been gaming, betas included.
I don't think it was CGI, but I'm sure it was touched up beyond belief. Remember, Epic has proven to be king of the bullshots when dealing with Gears.
Anyways, Gears is fun, trailer was cool. I thought Mark Rein or somebody over there claimed there wouldn't be a Gears 3 this gen? Whatever.
I thought he stopped doing these after being wrong on pretty much a monthly basis. I remember he only got like 2 months right for the leader between 360/PS3 during the whole year of 2008.
Yeah, that's pretty funny how they're using "celebrities" more often now. Getting them to come and slap some balls with Natal and make some PR vids saying how incredible it was. It's all fake. That's why I don't like the VGAs. None of the celebrities who take part give a flying f*ck about gaming. They're just pretending to be interested for the sake of whoever paid them to be there.
Kinda feel like playing one of these. I haven't played a Pokemon game since Red/Blue.
It's a common misconception that bugged up games are the result of bad testers. I'm sure it varies by developer, but from what my friends tell me, about 1/3 of the bugs submitted by testing teams are rejected on the grounds that the devs simply don't wanna put in the time and effort to fix them.
It's better than a slap to the sack, but yeah, it's a pretty lousy job. This whole show is like a bunch of aspiring chefs competing for a position as a dishwasher. I have several friends who test games, and it has killed gaming for a couple of them. The coolest thing you'll get out of this will likely be free access to E3.
Congrats, though. If it's a step in the right direction for you, then that's all that matters.
One thing that really concerns me is that Akira Yamaoka left Konami last year, and signed with a different studio this year. His music in the series has always been a big part of the experience.
Shoulda known it was HHG. Feel duped every time I click an article title and it turns out to be that fool. N4G Rickroll. Really wish we could customize source blocking. I'd never have to see HHG or his fellow baiters spamming this site ever again.
Bought this on XBLA a few days ago, pretty cool.
Lol... no.
But I do wanna try it out. I'm always anxious to play anything resembling survival horror.
Awesome, apparently I'm a Sony troll now because I see past the smoke and mirrors surrounding Microsoft and Natal. I must be doing a pretty bad job though, since the only console currently hooked up in my house is a 360.
On that note, if any of you non-fanboy 360 gamers are interested in doing some co-op in Mad Moxxi's Underdome on Borderlands, PM me. I wanna plow through the harder challenges ASAP.
I've done two 100%'s on the PS3, 95.25% on the 360 (installed). What are the differences? Way more pop-in on the 360, but a better framerate there too. That's about it.
