Really, both could be hurt by the Steam Box. While both Microsoft and Sony have tons of great first party IPs, they both depend greatly on the third party. So this could really hurt both of them. Hell it could really hurt Nintendo. The Wii U is suppose to try and get the third party back but the Steam Box might make that harder. Only downside to the Steam Box is that there will be no exclusives on it. Next gen more than ever exclusives will be the deciding factor, I think. And if that's t...

Smartest: Releasing Xenoblade in North America.
Dumbest: Taking almost two fucking years to release Xenoblade in North America.

Seriously, play Xenoblade, you owe it to yourself.

And most of those games were already late in development. Taking time and money to make a Wii U version would more than likely cause the game to be delayed, not to mention there's not a big install base on the Wii U right now, so why spend extra time and money, possibly delaying the game to make a version on a console not a lot of people own yet?

There was going to be a Star Fox minigame, and they scrapped it? *Shakes fist wildly* NINTENDOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Simple explanation, most of these games were about a year or two in development, maybe more, when the Wii U was announced and devs got devkits. If they tried to make a Wii U version of Metal Gear Rising or South Park, then it would take more devs, more manpower & possibly delaying the game. Given the small install base on the Wii U most devs don't think they extra time and work on a Wii U version at this time isn't worth it.

That was Kamiya trolling people on Twitter. He does that a lot.

There's never going to be another Dreamcast, that dream is dead (pun intended). Like I said before, I wish/hope a company like Nintendo buys them out. Not just to see my five year old self shit his pants at the mere thought of Sega and Nintendo being one in the same, though it would be cool, but also to make sure the franchises I love are in competent hands. Because there's one thing Sega has that Nintendont is incompetency.

I don't give a shit if Shenmue III is on the Atari Jarguar or N-Gage, I just want my fucking Shenmue III!

Okay, now is a good of time as any to rant on Sega.

*Clears throat*

I have a Master System, Genesis, CD, 32X, Saturn, Dreamcast, Game Gear & Nomad. Sonic is my favorite video game series, Shenmue & Panzer Dragoon Saga are some of my favorite games of all time and the Saturn & Dreamcast are some of my favorite consoles of all time, very underrated with a lot of great import games. So as you can see, i'm somewhat qualified to talk about Sega. H...

As I've said before, i'm loving the Wii U so far, but I would recommend waiting. Waiting to get a new console is always a good idea. There's never that must buy game at launch anymore. At the very most there's at least one or two good games, but not game-changers like Super Mario 64 or Halo. Also, there's usually some hardware failures (see: Wii U and ESPECIALLY Xbox 360). If you ask me, give it a year, wait to see some games that were built from the ground up to really ta...

Did you try to find anymore Wii games other than Mario, Zelda & Metroid? There's plenty of quality Wii games out there it's just that no one has ever heard of them. Like RPGs? Try Xenoblade. Like games with Metroid style non-linearity and gorgeous 2D hand drawn graphics? Try Muramasa. Like games that are hard as hell? Try Sin and Punishment or Donkey Kong Country Returns. Unique but addictive games? Trauma Center New Blood. Those were only a few, obviously there's more. But I ...

True, but the Vita's launch in Japan was terrible. Not in terms of quality, but a lot of the games were already available on the PS3 or PSP and the big exclusive at launch was Uncharted and we know how Japan feels about Western games. Wii U launching with Monster Hunter and Mario will more than likely help keep sales from dropping like the Vita, not to mention Dragon Quest in March will help as well.

@sexygamer_89 I'm comfortable enough in my masculinity to admit that I cried multiple times during the show. When they played the Prelude and they had footage of all the main series games, To Zanarkand, Theme of Love & finally Maria and Draco when the woman started singing is when I lost it.

@rezzah
Search on YouTube Distant Worlds The Celebration Chicago and there should be the entire show on there.

I was at the anniversary show in Chicago on Friday! It was amazing! First time I've ever been to a show like that. Uematsu and Arnie Roth played Dark World in the lobby before the show, I was about five feet from Uematsu, first time I ever felt star struck. Met a lot of cool people and there were some amazing cosplayers, mostly Yuna and Terra. They played One Winged Angel, To Zanarkand, Eyes on Me, Blinded by Light, Maria and Draco & so much more. Then at the encore Uematsu came on st...

10,000 for a Western game is pretty standard in Japan. Batman Arkham City on the PS3 only sold 11,000 copies in it's first week in Japan for reference.

Really good start for the Wii U. Launching with Monster Hunter, Mario and a Dragon Quest X beta pretty much solidified the Wii U being a success in Japan. Some people mentioned that the Vita had an impressive first week sale figure when it launched in Japan, but the very next week it dropped faster than a bag of hammers. Luckily, the Wii U has Monster Hunter and Mario plus Dragon Quest X coming in March. The system will be fine in Japan. Now in Europe that's a whole different story...

@Mika

360 did have a Monster Hunter game, only problem is it was an MMO. Japan hates MMOs, even when it's a big franchise like Monster Hunter or Dragon Quest. So point invalid. Besides that, it doesn't matter what system it's on, handheld or console, it's Monster Hunter, it will sell at least one million units in it's lifetime.

Well From Software and Namco do listen to petitions. Fans petitioned to get the game ported to the PC, so I don't see why it can't get ported to the Wii U. Honestly, Dark Souls II can work great on the Wii U and dare I say be the definitive version for one reason; Miiverse. Hell when Nintendo announced Miiverse I thought of the messaging system in Dark Souls. Plus, it hasn't been announced yet, but it might be later down the line. Nintendo is very strange when it comes to announci...

Ignores the fact that the same guys that made this comparison praised the Wii U version of Assassin's Creed III saying it's easily the best console version.

Star Ocean? Well it could be but didn't Tri-Ace say The Last Hope would be the last in the series? Considering how well it did critically and financially I wouldn't be surprised if they put the series to bed for good.

What i'm expecting: A new IP or something Final Fantasy related.

What i'm hoping: Xenogears 2....'sigh' it's never going to happen...
