Xenoblade, to me, is the best game this generation. All the characters are great and well written, the story is amazing, the soundtrack is an all time classic and the game successfully merged a WRPG with a JRPG, keep the focus on story like in a JRPG but also have a huge focus on exploration and customization. Nine Hours Nine Persons Nine Doors is my favorite game of 2010, so yes, a handheld game can be "game of the year".
More and more devs are coming out saying how next gen won't be a big leap and yet people still don't believe them. It really makes me wonder what people are expecting next gen to look like.
But anyway, i'm expecting native 1080p 60fps to still not be standard next gen, but I hope the majority are. I've said it before and i'll say it again, nothing is better than a silky smooth game. Performance > graphics.
I know people like co-op and trust me with the right game playing with friends can be a blast, but not survival horror. Any co-op, multiplayer, social or online aspects should be forever canned from survival horror games, they have no place. Call me a purist but survival horror is all about setting atmosphere, no music, no shitty jump scares, messing with the player's mind and being all alone.

Ever stop to wonder that maybe those games were in development prior to the devs getting Wii U dev kits and decided it wouldn't be a good idea to add another platform to develop for so late in the game's development cycle that it might cause the game to be delayed? I know this is a troll bait article for more Wii U bashing, but all it does is prove the point that launch titles don't mean jack shit. The PS1 had one of the worst launches in terms of score averages and yet it went on to have one of the best libraries of any console in terms of variety and quality.

This honestly sounds a bit worrying. But, I shall remain optimistic. When the finally show gameplay, if it looks and plays like Dark Souls then good enough for me. Just don't fuck up the lore that was one of the best parts of Demon's and Dark Souls.
