it's not a tragedy but it sux, it's a let down considering they are actually planing to strengthen this secondary chip in new hardware versions which means it is GIMPED in the launch model and was supposed to be able to download.
Oh man - Mark Cerny should've actually architected the system instead of going on tours giving interviews and messing with Knack development. This is a farse. The secondary chip was supposed to perform downloads using low energy !!!
If Sony manages to produce and sell 5M units, 0.1% of than is 5000. I'm more inclined to believe the failure rate is more of a 1% - that makes 50.000 replacements and 5.000 vids on YT and posts on websites about RBOD - Red Bar of Death.

yea, but u need two of those RAMs and that HDD price is some fluke! so is that motherboard - i don't know about its quality but from my experience a decent MB should cost about $100; HDDs are usually close to $100.
