maybe they are ashamed of GT5 and want people to forget about it and move on to GT6, which is a lot less broken and is generally working well out of the gate.
PS3 owners, on the other hand, have all enjoyed GT5 after the multitude of updates and game had still been selling millions right up to GT6 launch. In fact GT5 sales are on par with those of GT6 ...

To me Black Friday is not a place to sell expensive/luxury/rare and fully priced items. It should be about discounting products that are already established on the market, like a PS3/PSV Black Friday BANDURU.

Yea, they botched Mario launch - and it is a great Mario game! Galaxy class Mario. But I wouldn't call Wii U dead. I think it will do OK.
if fact - X1 is still readily available in Gamestop's online store. looks like MS had already mostly met the demand. PS4 sold out in like 10 minutes during BF and is missing since.

what ever both companies could have supplied, it would've sold out. PS4 sells out in the US in hours or minutes. The same goes for X1s. Console launches are crazy! It feels like both companies could've sold 6 millions each easily if they had them!
i think both might have made a big mistake not investing in extra production lines just for launch - that would've cost them a lot but would allow them to kick-star...
Yea, raising the prices of digital games at launch would be smart
as one million people trying and failing to download their games at the same time would be a marketing failure for PS Store and digital distribution in general. The retailers will be happy and maybe allocate better shelf space for the new console as they experience good launch game sales.
7 years from now is a good time to release the PS5. It will take a very long time for technology to advance meaningfully to justify a new console. we should expect new consoles to feature a fully integrated, coherent and transparent (in the sense of programming) memory architectures, so that the CPU+GPU integration is a fact. Current APUs in PS4 and X1 are only first steps in that direction, paving the way.
it will be scaled down to 720p by the system and will look great. the graphics are mind blowing compared to other games.
