I'd say Sony's better first party exclusives and more powerful hardware are going to win the generation for them. All the other goodies they provide are icing on the cake.
Much like Bungie, many have moved on from Halo and are looking for our Destiny. Those are the facts.
I think the smart company will give consumers options. Sony is realizing that with the ps4, Microsoft is learning a hard lesson about not listening to their customers right now with the xbone. It's hard for me to imagine an all digital distribution in the near future unless something changes drastically with the infrastructure in this country (the U.S.) Unless you live near a major metropolitan hub, you don't have access to high speed internet. Hard to go all digital when maybe on...
You're right...my major issue would be the infrastructure not able to support this without serious bottlenecks, severely hampering the experience. Also, how greedy will the providers be? Will every company try to implement a data cap? If so, forget it, the average consumer couldn't afford it.
Unfortunately the internet infrastructure, especially in the U.S., is atrocious and many people not near major metropolitan hubs don't even have access to high speed internet. I certainly could imagine a future where streaming games and even 4k games is possible, but the question is cost and how many people will have access to the bandwidth to make that a reality? And if we go down that road, how many providers will screw customers and try to implement data caps that make the all digita...
What a douche...er uhh I mean dsswoosh. Can anyone say jealous Microslog xbrat stuck in 720p land?
I think you meant to say TitanFall looks like an xbox 360 game. 720p, 6v6, non-destructible environments. Next gen indeed.
I really don't believe anything Microsoft says and I certainly don't believe their sales figures. I'll wait to see the if the npd mid january confirms the numbers.
Yes ray186, but you're forgetting all the people in this country that don't live near a major metropolitan hub who don't even have access to high speed internet yet.
Nice matrix reference cell989.
It's risible how people have come to have such low expectations from Microsoft and what games on that system can deliver. Pay more to get less. Good luck with that folks. I think even a toddler could tell you 720p and 6v6 for a MULTIPLAYER ONLY supposed "next gen" title is pretty damn pathetic. The game may turn out to be fun, or it may turn out to be completely disappointing, but to suggest that your expectations for what this game would deliver included 720p, no destructio...
Arbitor365, you're also forgetting Sony just gut punched Microsoft by offering streaming TV from Dish Network via app(for those with a hopper) without having to gimp the gaming functionality of their system to provide it, even providing DVR functionality. What do you know? TV and the cloud done in a sensible fashion, instead of overpromising and woefully under-delivering as Microsoft has become famous, or infamous for. Now Sony has positioned itself with a real cloud service that could...
I'm laughing at the fact straightpath thinks a 720p 6v6 multiplayer only "next gen" game is going to destroy every other next gen game. This poor guy has obviously never heard of The Division, Destiny, Infamous Second Son, The Witcher 3, MGSV, Watch_Dogs, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, No Man's Sky, etc. etc. etc. Every one of which has goty potential. Slow your roll guy, slow your roll.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha haHahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahaHahahahahahahahahahahahahaha haha!!!! You people sure are funny!! Keep making excuses for the system that costs more but delivers far less!! 6v6 and 720p??? Next gen indeed. Boy, those cloudzzzz sure are doing a bang up job!! HahahahahahahahahahahahHahahah ahahahahahahahahahahahahaHahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!
"Destruction does not suit every game". Sure irishguy95. It sure would be nice if that supposed next gen system you seem to prefer could manage 1080p. It sure would be nice if it didn't restrict what developers can do by limiting it's gpu with kinect. It probably could do destruction (as every next gen game with bullets and bombs should) if it really was next gen. Unfortunately for you, it's not. It's a tv pass through that does gaming half heartedly. Good luc...
Ellie is one of the most well realized female characters in gaming history. That little girl is tough yet vunerable, she's also smart, funny, loyal, and extremely courageous. Ellie is my character of the year 2013, and I think she's probably my favorite character of the entire last generation.
I would hope with a service like this they would offer tiered plans, based on how much you utilize the service. If I want to stream 100 games per year, it shouldn't cost the same as someone who maybe wants access to five or ten games annually. It would be nice if they could offer it bundled with psplus, starting at 60 bucks for both with a cap on the amount of content you could stream for that price, and increasing the amount incrementally from that 60 dollar base price.
Poor bessy67 has no options for backward compatibility, thus the b@tching and moaning. Sorry. I guess you chose wrong. PS4 and Sony. The best hardware. The best software. And a cloud that actually offers a benefit, as opposed to pipe dreams. Imagine that.
"the game was designed for XB1 therefore will have the best version of the game". You better hope not, truefan1. Because if the xbone version does turn out to be the best version, that doesn't say much for Respawn. The xbone is not on par with the PS4 in multiplatform titles, with the PS4 routinely achieving 1080p and stable frame rates while the bone is stuck in 720p land. If Respawn gimps the pc version of Titanfall for the sake of not making the xbone version look inferio...
Uhhh..the PS4 is sold out everywhere while the xbone is available pretty much everywhere. Case closed.
