I remember when I first thought that the tide was turning for graphics and gameplay comparisons between the ps3 and xbox. It was after playing uc1 and ac1. The first time i played assassins creed 1, when I rode the horse, I just could't get how a "next-gen" developer could make a horses animation so inferior to even a ps2 game(namely sotc) agro's animation was so much better, and uncharted 1 was so much better than ac1, That I was thinking, well... ... here we go! I asked 3 co-workers, who only have the xbox, if you could play games online on "live" for free, but all the "extra" stuff on "live" i.e. cross game chat-party invites-premium themes-dlc-early etc still would be 40-50$ a year,would they pay da money?... they all said h... no!

It has to do with very few games having teh development budget or time spent on them that games like killzone2 and uncharted have had.

The absolute truth is that games like Uncharted 2 are the exception, not the rule. There are only a few PS3 games that reach that level of production quality. Multi-platform developers are less interested in creating masterpieces than they are milling out games to keep the lights on.

You say uc2 looks "good" and "didnt blow you away" o.k. your opinion, but the vast majority of pepole who have played it on a decent t.v. are questioning your viewpoint considering what else is out there, most say uc1 has no equal on the 360. What the article didn't point out is(even though ND's engine already existed) ND only took 18 months to make UC2 from the beginning! So, how can a 3rd party dev with a bigger budget,more personell, previous experience developing for both consoles, still make a product FOR the ps3(The ps3 version IS for the ps3!) that is far below experiences like sony first party devs make in a short time? Your opinion is hereby noted and stored! but I, for one immediatly started on the "hard" campaign! Multiplayer when I need a BREAK ;)! I'd assume others also. BTW first ps3 game I've played where everyone on my friends list, that is online was playing same game at the same time! Also first time some had their status on off! me too! What I mean is, did any of those actually use the capabilities afforded to the developers to showcase "next-gen" A.I., graphics, audio output, online capabilities etc..? Ace combat is a must have for niche gamers, but sales will always be slower for titles that are mediocre in this 60$ a game world we live in today. IMHO.

I've posted this b4, imho, we as gamers that share this HOBBY, are looking for the ultimate experience! i.e. total immersion in a world that isn't reality. Virtual reality is the key word! Until smell-o-vision and feel-o-vision come to fruition, we have to rely on the most modern venues to get to where we want to be! And on this date in time GRAPHICS are the number one way to do this! So, in my opinion, yes, graphics matter a helluva lot in gaming!
