I havent touched any rpg's in years, but got this game solely on the incredible reviews and rants such as this one! A little backgruond of my gaming: I'm a 43yo, and have been gaming since 1972! Yes I have missed the old school "vibe" we gamers got playing games without save points and auto saves! DEMONS SOULS hits that sweet spot perfectly IMHO! And your review was also spot on! I played kz2 last night and had a absolute blast! I was thinking to myself that this is why I have devoted so much time and money in this "HOBBY"! IMHO, comparing kz2 and mw2 is like comparing a Ferrari, and a Miata!
Both are sporty and a blast to drive. But one offers it's driver such an EXCLUSIVE experience that it is hard to put into words!
But in my mind not only is the hands down best FPS ever in the history of electronic adult entertainment! launch 60G has been on for 6hrs now, as is most days. In fact im on the web browser right now. No issues yet to speak of. I dont even clean it that often! Ido clean it when I see dust though! Why? because I am a "gamer" and I've always wanted a 360, but buying a new construction home dictates that I will only have one system for a while, my choice just happened to be the SONY box! I cannot downplay anyone elses decision for getting a xbox first, it's just that sooner or later in this gen of gaming, they are too close in product similarity, minus the exclusive games to not want both! I.E. only if you are not a "casual" gamer! am I wrong?

haven't had any real issues and I play and surf and access "home" and stream free movies daily. My wife is usually upstairs on her laptop wireless, and my son is on the p.c. online while i'm online playing killzone 2 and I have a 16$ router and the free modem from comcast cable.
That reminds me that no one talks about the added price of our cable providers in factoring in playing games online, when most games have online capabilities!

The "gameplay" of killzone 2, TO ME was outstanding! Totally hardcore fps in a very extreme way! Not really suited to an average gamer who doesn't play these types of games regularly. Just like "BATHYJ" posted. I also have been gaming for 30+ years! Killzone 2 was what I'm looking for in immersion in a war game! I've said before that even if Killzone 3 is a better game, I will never sell or trade this game away for nostalgic reasons alone concerning the obvious effort GG put into it! GG obviously knows what "hardcore" gamers want! noobs should think twice before gettin down with thin one!

Anyone who reads all the posts so far should come away with the realization that all the praise for killzone 2 is well deserved! I gave a bubble to everyone with a positive response, not because of the response, but because of all the negativity that was and is associated with this "stellar" title that us fans have had to endure for so long! (Dialogue in SP aside) the game really excels, especially at MP!

killzone 2 IMHO, will always be a benchmark title! Even if KZ3 is better I will always keep 2! The game is absolutely stellar! there are some flaws in the game,(horrible dialog!) But they really don't even take away a tenth of a percentage point of gameplay imo. The A.I., technical aspects, ray-traced bullets etc.. out way any negatives!

When I look at previous games in general since the inception of video gaming entertainment, I can say with certainty that killzone 2 (even with it's faults.. I.E. horrible dialogue!)will stand as a benchmark title for the history books. why? because of the tech that went into it like every bullet is ray traced, the lighting effects, smoke etc... the one that really does it for me is that the engine exhaust has calculated thrust, and was shown when the "drop ships" fly through smoke ...
I will buy the higher quality, well made, enjoyable 3rd party games if there were more of them. batman, mw1-not 2, bioshock,... ... is there any more? I have most all sony first party games!
