Minecraft with guns - brilliant.
David Wise is on a high list of my favourite video gamers composers. There's Nobuo Uematsu, and also Koji Kondo. I'm forgetting a lot of others, but these three are the most influential to me when discussing this topic.
Great article, really enjoyed it.
It's basically a glass left half empty/ or full scenario, though I'm leaning towards the ladder. Maybe the person in charge was too family man oriented, so the person didn't care about attracting those massive 3rd party AAA's.
The fault can't be placed all on him, though it is a welcoming bit of news revelation for myself.
That's why PC gaming is the way to go. Steam, G2A and the like, have been huge money savers for me.
Such a terrible loss.
RIP
Strawberry milk shaking.
Very well said. He really was 'one of a kind,' as Reggie put it.
This is where having third party support helps your platform. Indies are there for the Wii U and 3DS, though the bigger publishers ignore them altogether (the 3DS- to a lesser extent).
The NX makes a lot of sense to me everytime I read upon its rumors. Having ''carts'' instead of disc for both the NX's rumored platforms, instantly negates the divide between Nintendo's future console and Handheld, creating one massive library of software. It's crossbuy...
Amiibo's aren't the problem; locking content behind it, is. When specific models aren't a scarcity, then it won't be much of an issue (locking DLC behind Amiibo).
Nintendo needs to adjust their business model to have a bigger impact in the European gaming market.
Treyarch COD games are more enjoyable. Sledgehammer Games are a notch above mediocre.
There's an obvious reason why MC is lauching on the Wii U. Asking for anything else (to release on opposing platforms, except PC/and or smart phones), seems foolish.
I believe the major reason why, is because the Vita version is doing very well in Japan, and Micosoft's hoping the Wii U edition can bring in some extra consumers.
That's very impressive. While the majority of the world cares about third party titles and how well they run against competing platforms, a semblance of dedicated fans support Nintendo and their ability to produce true platform exclusives (games that release on PC aren't truly exclusive), and it's clearly paying off.
SMTxFE for Wii U.
Like Devil's Third, I plan trying this game at least. Interesting concept (Left 4 Dead is one of my favourite franchise), hoping for a local multiplayer mode.
That's, a... Something?
Having a slit on the shortest dress possible...😶
Lmao (that part made me laugh too)!
Monolith Soft has proven themselves, and should be considered as talented as Nintendo's EAD groups. They make games that are not "Nintendo-like," which feature voiceovers and cinematic fmvs. Nintendo needs to hire another group of developers who specialize in developing sport titles (non-arcady type "Mario sports" games), though I digress.
Dec.4 will be a great for XCX fans.
I always tell myself; "there's no way the Wii U's reached it full potential," then reality sets in. Are Shin'en and Monolith Soft the only developers who utilized the Wii U's cpu, sound processor unit, and edram efficiently? Craft U (an indie game similar to Minecraft) apparently features an engine made specifically the Wii U's hardware, runs extremely well (maybe better than MC even). Bayonetta 2 wasn't even optimized beyond the Wii U's ideal capabilitie...
It's a shame what became of the Wii U. Having limited third party support, Nintendo should be asking indies to delv the type of software that's scarce on their platforms. Indie output has been good on Wii U, though I'm hoping for more genres in particular.
Sports (real sports, not Arcady types. Use a separate mode for that).
Co-op & Competitive online playing games
Single-player action type games
There's more, though this list...
The concept of Wii U made sense, though its execution was lacking. From the console's name to its specs; Nintendo underwhelmed a lot of people. Though "software" is what makes a gaming platform more visible, the Wii U has great exclusives but lacks the AAA titles that compels consumers to purchase one at an industry invasive level.
The NX is exactly what Nintendo needs. Rather than rely on third parties to help them sell their hardware platforms, they've devise...
