I would rather pay $15 a month than play a blood sucking free to play game that constantly spam me with in game item sales or break the community with dozens of insulting pay gates.
Free to play is a plague in this industry and it's concepts are creeping into retail products as well. I would like to see this business model wipe off the face earth.
I'm agreeing here. They're the only service that advertise refunds if you're not satisfied. That is extremely ballsy seeing how Steam frequently launch massive sales of abandoned wares. Origin actually stand by their products.
We all love Steam but quit being a fanboy. Origin is great and their sales and promotions rivals even Steam. While they're still lagging behind Steam in term of community features Origin is now a great place to play. I buy their games without a second thought.
I absolutely hate the episodic nature of Tale Tell games. By the time the next one comes out I no longer care or the pacing of the storyline has faded away.
A free to play Dark Souls clone. What could go wrong. Nothing. Just keep your credit card handy. Want your soul back? $1. Want to use that purple sword you found? $5. Want more than 10 inventory slots? $10. Out of healing potions? $5. Need crafting components? Buy a $10 RNG chest.
So what's wrong? Without Kate no one would give a damn.
DA: Inquisition is a GOTY. $45 is a good deal.
Sony need to embrace Valve and Origin philosophy by handing out free games once in a while. For example Team Fortress is completely free on Steam. They then use tie ins and promotions from that game to generate sales. From that free game they get millions in residual sales. It's genius. A brilliant want to generate traffic through your store and build a community at the same time.
This out of the box thinking is completely alien to Sony and Microsoft.
No idea what this is. But yes please.
The problem with Valve is that they basically are PC gaming like how Google is the internet. While Mircosoft has been wasting billions on the Xbox and figthing a pointless console war without any real gain, Valve has transformed and dominated the PC digital market to the point of being a monopoly.
Now a days, for an indy developer it's either you're on Steam or you don't exist. They can and will, crush your hopes and dreams for any slight, real or imagined. With a...
I'm going to agree here to a certain extent. Aside from the combat and the awesome nemesis system, the game is basically a barren wasteland or green fields, filled with orcs to kill. There are no towns, no city to vist or anything else to interact with other than killing orcs.
This game is great if your idea of the best MMO ever is WoW. If you think WoW is what's wrong with the MMO genre then this is the worst game ever.
Some people thinks free to play is the answer to everything. It's not. More often than not it makes the game worst and dilute the experience into a constant prompt to insert your credit card.
I'm tired of these guys and their constant attempts at generating hype. Show me the game.
There are many ways it could be improved, but my biggest beef is that the multiplayer feels like a free to play game tacked on to $60 retail product. That's a slap in the face.
Don't get me wrong. DA 3 is a epic master piece, the only game this year deserving of the GOTY title. But this multiplayer feels like I'm playing Destiny all over again.
The Koreans are know for the amazing visuals in their games. TERA is still one of the best looking MMO I've ever played. Too bad they're totally focused on PC gaming with zero console development in the works. I wouldn't mind seeing their take on the nextgen.
I love the Witcher but I seriously doubt this game can match Dragon Age 3. The scale and story telling in that game is so epic in such a grand scale that I fear the Witcher will not be able to measure up.
I lost all interest once I realized that this will be episodic. Another shit gaming trend that needs to die.
This game needs all the time it can get. The bar has been raised by DA: Inquisition, good luck meeting it. They seriously need to improve the combat BTW.
N4G is almost useless for "news". If it weren't for this, it'll be completely useless.
