its not PSN, this was set in motion years ago when these older PS3's rolled off the production line with incorrect leapyear code written for it. so it won't matter how far you keep your older PS3 away from an ISP, it has been ticking down to that point in time(12am GMT) no matter what.
what is really interesting is how sony is going to get a firmware update to people without internet connections, unless the problem corrects itself when the date rolls over to march2nd
thats fine for us with internet connections, but what about all the people without ISP's? this could be a disaster
@4.1 that is a good question, and it's being discussed in the ign and neogaf forums at this moment. I'm going to unplug my cable just in case sony doesn't fix this in a few days. its very odd, it seems to be effecting PS3's that are offline as well as online
i have not played FFXI for a few years, but this is absolutely huge news and i might just rejoin. i just hope my char is still stored in some capacity, it took long enough to reach lv75
I liked all of biowares games except dragon age, i just could not get into that game, im glad i only paid $40 for it.
off topic: the gold medal game is tomorrow at noon, if canada wins this city is going to go nuts!
@1.5&1.6
you two are the real douche bags, Ita is a respected developer. After reading the article it seems he doesn't take sh*t from higher ups at tecmo, we need more developers like this that go nose to nose with a publisher for the sake of a better gaming experience.
thats alot of ram. too bad windows(64bit version) only support 128GB at this point. in 6-7 years this will probably be standard
Fail#6 Tactics regarding the HDD
lets get the first gripe out of the way and that is Price, unfair and backhanded. Next is the proprietary approach to it, not allowing users more freedom to customize only hurts hardware sales. Finally we come to the availability, which is my biggest complaint.. introducing DLC, Games on demand, optional installs, arcadegames, movies and music for a console with a maximum 120GB(unless you buy a 250GB bundle) is silly. I can not find any 120GB driv...
"The devs told some years ago that GOW would run in FULL HD + 60 FPS"
this statement is true, kind of. GoWCollection runs at 60fps/1080p (looking at the back of the box...oops) nevermind it says 720p. and that's a ps2 remake
i'm really liking the game so far, i missed out on GoW1+2 for Ps2. I would recommend picking this game up if you haven't played it already, its only $30 or $40
KZ2 is a corridor shooter, same as GeoW2. when killzone has environments like farcry2 then you can say it has an open world. Your right about one thing, KZ2 has good visuals, but that doesn't make up for the controls (imo)
lol wow, korea pumps out like 3-4 MMOS a year it seems, and they all look to be from NC soft in some way
good point. plus the 360 has been around for a year longer, and a lot of gamers picked one up already, and now that PS3 is at a reasonable price point, some of us have went for it. multi-console owners are growing
I think EA is the reason why GFWL is not used
it probably will go to PS3 at some point but how long are you willing to wait? a year?
are all you Tales fans still waiting for the US version of ToV?
if this trend keeps up Sony is going to have more SKU's than games for PSP
this has "pack-in game" written all over it
agreed, this game needed another few months of development to flesh out the game. but this is the youngest MMO i have played. WoW and FFXI had been around for years before i started playing them, so maybe in half a years time it will be better. Hell im already at Commander7 and alot of players are already at rearAdmiral and complaining about the lack of content. oh well, 30free days is enough time to get to end game and quit before the Sub kicks in.
found a list of loading times before/after install on neogaf http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
i think crackdown now has the option to install now, and from what i remember there is no benefit to installing Halo3, apparently the install increased load times, funky stuff
"i sometimes install games to my 360 HDD, but honestly, i didn't notice any kind of game performance improvements. i had Mass Effect 1 installed on my HDD, but it still had framerate issues, and loading during those areas in the game where the little disc would appear in the middle of the screen to load the next section"
the benefits from installing games varies from game to game, all the install does is create a disc image much like a mounted drive on your PC, the game...
"The only way this company will EVER stop is when WE, the GAMERS, stop buying their crap"
no doubt, who the fuc& keeps buying these guitar hero games?
