I had OG Xbox and 360 and there were 0 exclusive Ip's that I was interested in playing.
I stopped playing Horizon because Aloy failed to keep me interested at all. Gameplay was really good, protag was a bore.
I think Xenogears is, objectively, the worst game I've ever played. It dragged on and on, the translation was pretty awful, and the second disk just made the whole thing into a joke.
I can definitely see the similarities, but for whatever reason I got bored of Horizon pretty quickly. I've played MH about 4 times longer so far, and this is my first MH game.
It doesn't prove that at all. It proves that Nintendo fans will buy a Nintendo system, and that they were able to differentiate their product much better this time around. But console power absolutely matters.
This is my first Monster Hunter game as well. My only complaint is that I wish the monster's hit harder and were more aggressive, forcing me to use more tools more often. It's a great game though.
I'm really loving MHW, but Persona 5 is my favorite game of all time. So... I guess it depends on what you feel like playing right now--a story or gameplay driven game.
It's all true. While BoTW has a beautiful world, much of what is there is empty or simply filler. That coupled with:
A mediocre soundtrack, with actively obnoxious battle music
Average to below-average combat that is surpassed by multiple games within the same ARPG category last year
An annoying item durability system
Lack of substantial item progression or pacing
Weak story/characters/narrative
...add up to a weak ...
Yup, easily Persona 5.
Who do you think wrote net-neutrality rules? How do you think the internet functioned prior to 3 years ago? The internet WAS free for all this time. "Net-Neutrality" accomplishes exactly the opposite of what its name implies and provides an avenue for large corporations to lobby for regulation that benefit themselves and stifle potential competitors. In addition to the possibility of censure and favoritism by government. Guess who net-neutrality doesn't affect? Google and Amazon...
Completely agree. Zelda suffers from the same problems as most open world do for me.
Weak, poorly placed story
Lack of meaningful player direction
Large percentage of generic fights
Too much filler
Eventual burnout and boredom before completing game
I have zero problem with a company stuffing their coffers full... However, I want it occurring as the natural reward to a well made and great game--not through poor mechanics that add nothing to the game.
The author's attitude and perspective is the only problem here.
The developer is creating a game that the protagonist has the option to romance various female characters. Most people given the opportunity would like to be with someone they find attractive--cute. There are societal norms of what is likely considered cute and what isn't. Forcing or complaining to a developer isn't going to change those tendencies, though they may change slowly over time.
...
The game failed because of the mentality of this developer and others running the project. The developer believing that diversity for the sake of diversity results in a superior product is one reason his studio is going downhill.
Ideas are what matter. Good ideas, interesting ideas, new ideas... and employees that are able to competently execute those ideas.
Andromeda wasn't able to execute. A lack of various skin colors, countries of origin or othe...
Exactly. Xbox doesn't have a single franchise that interests me--which is why I got rid of my 360 for a ps3 back in the day. Meanwhile, PS has game of the year quality exclusives that come out all the time, including most of my favorite games of last generation, and my favorite of all time this year.
Not even the best game of Spring '17.
Beyond that, there are too many aspects of BotW that are average at best; the world design being the one truly great piece. Other than that, combat, story, characters, music, filler-shrines are all not where they should be and these are huge components of the game. It's a solid 8.0 but it's clear that people are just in love with Zelda for being Zelda.
@naruga I'm a 30+ year old player that has played almost exclusively RPG's in my life, both western and JRPG's. Persona 5 was the first time I'd played any Persona game, and it is my favorite game of all time. From start to finish, I found it to be the most consistently fantastic and interesting throughout--of any game I've played. That's even more impressive given that I took 180 hours to beat it, I'll normally abandon a game before then because they just aren'...
Yes, BoTW is highly overrated.
Possibly the best, most beautiful world design ever in a video game, combined with mediocre battle design, inventory, progression, story, characters and some of the worst music(?) ever, make it barely an OK game in my book.
Best game I've ever played.
Final Fantasy XI came out on PS2 14 years ago. That didn't miss the mark either. The difference is that those games were full of content even at release. Games like Sea of Thieves don't have the content to fill a single city in an MMO.
