There really is nothing to this story besides some people taking a quote out of context and getting worked up about it.

Finally! Someone who understands it. Conferences aren't about which platform wins or loses, it's about getting people excited about games. And a trickle of vague information doesn't do that.

Nintendo has become aware of potential defects! THIS IS MADNESS!

Don't bother arguing with Morganfell. He combines an, at best, loose understanding of the 360 and claims to own one to disguise his typical fanboyism. If it's for the 360, Morganfell will instantly claim its worse despite overwhelming facts to the contrary.

And Morgan, I'm sorry you weren't any good at Mass Effect. You should still be able to recognize why other people enjoyed it. If not, I guess you aren't that in touch with the rest of the gaming community.

Also, I...

I agree. BioWare really has an impressive line-up coming next year. Let's not forget about their ambitious efforts with the Sonic RPG for the DS. I know it won't compare to Mass Effect, but to try and make ANYTHING out of Sonic's supporting cast is a very bold move.

I find it amazing you would say that after they just said the Mass Effect Trilogy was staying on the 360.

Logic and cold hard data. No spin, just analysis and explanation.

Oh thank God. I was worried that Sony fans were becoming incapable of blind hatred towards a product they can't play.

I disagree. I finally tried out the demo today and it was a very creative and enjoyable game. The key to enjoying it is to not try and play it like God of War. Once you get used to the attack system, it is loads of fun to mow through legions of robotic goblins with your swords.

As for the death scene, seeing as how there are no other penalties for death, I think the 20 second death scene is a fitting punishment.

I bet the story, setting, and items will be the same. All that will change will be the controls and graphics. How does that not constitute a port?

Yeah Bethesda screwed up big time with their first DLC release. But all their subsequent DLC for Oblivion was brilliant. Mehrunes' Razor, Knights of the Nine, Fighter's Stronghold and the Shivering Isles were all brilliant and well-received additions to Oblivion.

You really need to do your homework before chirping in,

Box art has never been Valve's strong suit but it's better than the Orange Box was.

360 turning a profit: http://www.joystiq.com/2008...

PS3 not turning a profit: http://www.joystiq.com/2008...

So to answer your questions, the PS3, despite its praise from internet fans, has not yet turned in a profit. The Wii and 360 have. With some more digging ...

Yeah, they co-own MSNBC. CNBC is owned by CNN and NBC I think. Its confusing.

What a flimsy article. Must be a slow news day.

Yeah, the 360 is slowing down in sales. Should pick up again in the fall. Kudos to the article for recognizing the role of Blu-Ray in selling the PS3.

The real advantage that analysts are ignoring is software sold. That's where companies make all their money (since the PS3 and 360 are sold at a loss and the Wii is only sold at a slight profit). The Xbox 360 has mopped the floor in game sales.

The #50 best selling game for the 360, Fifa 07, sold 780K copies. That is 4...

I tend to side with Yahtzee Croshaw on this matter. I don't say "Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a wonderful film that is filled to the brim with hilarity. But if it were available in a slightly higher resolution, the entire experience could be drastically improved."

Sangria, you raise a valid point about the graphics power. My only guess is that Capcom was more interested in fiddling with the controls than actually improving the 360 version.

6428d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

What graphics? They only released a cinematic and said they would make it look like that. We only hear that from developers EVERY SINGLE GAME. Wait until some actual gameplay is shown before crowning it.

First of all, it was announced in 2005. That's when they began selling the product on the hype of future potential. And while the PS3 has outsold the 360 worldwide since the start of the year, it's mean by a minor margin (what's a few thousand in a week after gaining a lead of millions) and the PS3 released one of their biggest exclusives while the 360 didn't. Overall, the 360 has sold better and its games have sold better consistently more often than the PS3.
